That just shows congressmen's frustration on the huge trade deficit. A symbolic act at best. If these congressmen are so brave, they would have called for the sever of the economic tie with China.
The U.S. Congress has quite often passed resolutions supporting Taiwan and its leaders. Symbolic, yes. However, it shows the growing support that Taiwan has in both parties in the United States.
If Chen came, that would piss China to no end. Another economic retaliation is ensured targeting export business of certain congressmen's home district. In today's dire economic situation, they can't afford such foolish trolling.
Chen is there now. A couple of Congressmen have met with him, he will meet Mayor Bloomberg and has received a human rights award all while in New York City.
Well, considering that Lian was just in the U.S. and Europe, the pro-blue faction have no reason for complaint.
Verybdog is a neo-con? He's probably the most pro-Beijing person on here, at least aside from the people actually under Big Brother's thumb...
It is your ChiCom buddies who put out lies like this gem that is truly sad. http://fpeng.peopledaily.com.cn/200311/03/eng20031103_127495.shtml
He may be able to buy a human rights prize but he'll never be able to buy TW independence. Great article.
Wrong. Like Marxism-leninism, Mao Zedong thought, Deng Xiaoping theory and Jiang Zemin's Three Represents, the People's Daily website always works. Check your settings.
You do realize that Mao's and Deng's economic theories were mostly contradictory, don't you? And no, like Marxism, the site doesn't work, you've just been brainwashed into thinking it does.
Idiot, just because you can't access it doesn't mean the site doesn't work. It works for me and it obviously works for ludahai.
LOL!!! Bought a human rights prize? You have bought the ChiCom propoganda line hook, line, and sinker. It was the ChiComs who had to pay demonstrators 20-25 dollars each to demonstrate agains Chen and they even picked up the bus fare. ChiCom supporters in Taiwan even attacked a Chinese dissident after speaking out in favor of Taiwan's independence! http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/front/archives/2003/11/04/2003074504 President Chen said that he was pleased with how his trip to New York went and that he was looking forward to meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State in Panama. http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/archives/2003/11/04/2003074521 Here is an article about the meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20031104/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/powell_panama_2 I can't wait to see your how propoganda masters respond to this one.
