Not the bomb type, but the smoke machine type. (You can homemake the bomb type, too, but that's a lot more dangerous). Apparently some supporters' groups are using smoke machines in addition to/instead of smoke bombs. Pro: they're easy to use, cheap, legal in Pennsylvania and don't stink. Cons: you can't create colored smoke. High-output smoke machines run into the thousands of dollars...but as far as I can tell, they're actually pretty simple. All you need is: 1) A mixture of glycerol and distilled water to create the actual "smoke" (actually persistent steam), 2) A pump to push the fluid past a heating element, and 3) A heating element. In other words, it's an aquarium pump and an iron. Or on a larger scale, a pump from a decorative fountain, some copper tubng, a large immersion heater, and maybe a small fan. Any enterprising SoBs think they could put together a backyard version? Anyone think the team would let us install it somewhere in the section and loan us an extension cord?
