The city didn’t let the team travel. At least that’s the story I’m reading. If true, then even if they wanted to play the match they couldn’t have. An exception should obviously be made here.
This is the best thread I’ve found on the topic but it’s a few hours old. Quite the most surreal spectacle unfolding in Italy right now as Juventus prepare as normal - team bus to the stadium, starting XI posted on Twitter - to face a Napoli team that everybody knows is not going to show up, seeing as they are still back home in Naples.— Nicky Bandini (@NickyBandini) October 4, 2020
She summed it up well from what I can see. The thing is, Napoli are following the recommendation of local health officials to quarantine. As they should. Nobody is forcing them to stay, they could've traveled if they wanted to. Of course that would be irresponsible to do. The problem is though from the sporting side if you make an exception for Napoli how is it fair for Milan and the other teams who had to play their games? Napoli and their scumbag president are also trying to take advantage of the situation seeing as how they are missing key players. Now you can debate about Juve posting their lineups and all the extra nonsense, but if the league says play on usual then what are they expected to do?
If true that Juventus could postpone the game and they refused, shame on them. That would be bad karma for them, hopefully, something is changed in the next few days. Because it would be a great game to see former teammates now take on each other as managers. Also, to see if Napoli is up to Juventus level this year after the ass kicking they gave Genoa last week when they looked like one of the best teams in the world. Most importantly for us here Chucky vs an elite team.
It's not Juve's call to make. The league is following the same protocols that they have for all teams which have had players test positive. Could and exemption have been in this case is what's debatable.
I've read some sources suggest they weren't allowed, period. If it's just a case of them following guidelines, then yes there's a lot more stock in what you're saying. On the lineup, it might be extra nonsense to you but as a gesture that's up there with Tigres scoring several goals against Veracruz during the three minute protest. I don't equate it with the actual issues of the match, but it's worth noting.
Lol, no. What scumbag Tigres does is on another level. How are Juve the the bad guys for posting lineups and preparing for the game as per the league the game is not cancelled? What if Napoli did decide to travel and shows up after all? There were so many conflicting reports coming out, who knows what was really going down. Why should they be expected to forfeit the game if the league doesn't cancel? If they really weren't allowed to leave then the league should've made an exemption obviously, but Napoli didn't handle this well either. Again these are all protocols that all teams abided by when the season started.
This is so boring, you're conflating issues. I'm not blaming Juve for the main issue here. And if you look at my original post, sólo los taché de mamones. Obviously I didn't think it had any real relevance. It's scummy in my opinion, from a team that historically has no room to be so. If people who aren't even insiders knew hours before that Napoli were in Napoli with no intention of traveling, I think Juve knew. The main issue we agree is whether they were allowed to travel or not. One source I've read states they would've been fined, so that definitely doesn't sound like a matter of following or not following guidelines. Will keep tabs on the story.

All he needed to do is get his stamina up and understand Gattusos system. He’s been doing a good job of defending. It also helps that Napoli actually signed a true striker and also a DM. Napoli looking like a Champions team.
