Two have the names of the designers and photo credits. I recognize one of the names as an obvious 'Quakes fan...
These are some brutal options. I'm sure their creators worked hard, but man... they leave something to be desired.
Now you know why people thought Toulouse-Lautrec was a genius... We just need to offer up a bottle of this stuff:
Just to update to 2018: Heritage Cup is in its 10th year and begins at home on July 25. Seattle has won five times, the Quakes four times. (Considering Seattle's play this year, the Quakes may have a chance to win something)! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heritage_Cup_(MLS) http://www.ssvcf.org/portfolio/the-heritage-cup/ http://www.ssvcf.org/heritage-cup-rules/
2019 Update: The last time the Quakes won the Heritage Cup was 2015. For 2019 there is a balanced two-game regular season schedule between Seattle and San Jose. Three points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw. Last night was a 2-2 draw in Seattle. The September 29 match will be hosted by the Earthquakes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heritage_Cup_(MLS) http://www.ssvcf.org/portfolio/the-heritage-cup/ http://www.ssvcf.org/heritage-cup-rules/
SPOILERS!!! I haven't watched last night's game yet, and you just revealed the score. Which showed up in my email, because 6 years ago I followed this thread. NOT OKAY.
Meh. We understand your pain, but, I opened this thread with the assumption that it would contain a mention of the score. You probably should have unfollowed it after 2013. However, maybe the title should be changed to just be a generic Heritage Cup thread and not year specific.
You're right, Bill, I apologize. I know how aggravating that is; when I miss a game I try to not even look at my computer until I've seen the game to avoid inadvertently seeing a mention, and unhappy if I do. Since it was Heritage Cup game and I posted in the Heritage Cup thread the next day and led with "2019 update", it didn't occur to me to watch for that. Mea Culpa.
In retrospect sure, I shouldn't have opened the email... but I wasn't thinking it through, and since it didn't have [R] in the title I figured it was safe.
If you want us to add [R] to the title (edit to add: and / or remove the year from the title), just say the word. I don't think anyone meant any harm, but it's an unfortunate situation to have the score spoiled for you.
Thanks, Smurfquake, I request a change to Heritage Cup (R). I was only using the "The Heritage Cup 2013" thread because it seemed to be the only Heritage Cup thread I could find when I updated last year and this year.
Good thing I don't know how to use a VCR, and I'm not a SF Giants fan in any event, because I'm always confounded with the daily result while perusing Random Jibberish, that other thread without an [R] at the end.
My girlfriend is a basketball fan, so we had to watch the Warriors playoff game last night when we should've been watching the Quakes.

That's a kick ass picture. (Pregame before the first match at which the trophy was contested. Was passed around inside the bar.)
The Heritage Cup has had the cooperation of the Front office, but it is a fan-administered grassroots project. I just saw a funny email which illustrates the travails which sometimes accompany such projects that no one ever expects. Heather is the Seattle fan who is coordinating with Rob and Don here. Since Seattle won the Cup last year it has been in that city until now. Thus, it fell to Heather to be the one who had to fly the Cup down here. She tells us, "... the Cup blocked the baggage claim and set off alarms and stopped everything . I pretended it wasn’t mine for awhile before claiming it..." So if you see the Cup at the game Sunday, give a thought to the fans in both cities who make it possible.
