Despite suggesting he wants to end his playing career at Arsenal, other sources close to the club believe Henry will walk away from Highbury as a free agent when his contract expires in June 2003.

Juventus will be monitoring the situation but the smart money is on a move to the richest club in the world, Manchester United.

Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood’s recent outburst about player’s wages will not help Arsenal’s negotiating position, if they are serious about offering Henry a new lucrative contract.
