Moved: Why he’d leave? Bigger wages at Chelsea. More likely to win a title even if their currently above us in the standings. Why they’d sell? His price is all time high even with COVID. If they feel that they can get other just as good players for cheaper they can build the squad depth off his sale going into next year where they’ll be facing multiple comps. If they sell I bet the do everything they can to go get Jamal Lewis. I do think he’s an upgrade and there’s room for growth at 23 but I’m weary of the price. LB is hard to fill. There’s a few good young options that I like but it’s a gamble and we already have a very very young team. At 23 Chillwell is young enough but also still a vet in comparison to many of our other key players. He’s also experienced in the league which is important.
Been hearing now in the past couple of days that Chelsea are trying to convince Timo Werner to play for them and not Liverpool
Holy crap, reports claim we got Werner for 60m. Absolutely massive if true. Well done Marina et al! Despite heavy links with Liverpool, Timo Werner is close to joining Chelsea in a deal worth almost €60M, reports @BILD_Sport pic.twitter.com/MxgDg0Ytok— B/R Football (@brfootball) June 4, 2020
Weird that he posed for a picture like this*. *I know this is a doctored photo. It is one of the many awful, terrible things wrong with journalism and social media.
holy shit, si.com reporting it, too. https://www.si.com/soccer/chelsea/transfer-news/timo-werner-chelsea-talks-summe-transfer
Don't want to fall into prisoner-of-the-moment syndrome too much, but this is really so great He's young, still getting better, and already proven at the highest level His style offers something different from Tammy. So much versatility now in playing one of them or the other, or both together, which also looks like a good fit The price is right. Shows the right kind of ambition and intent from the board F*ck Liverpool I mean, what's not to love
Matt Law reporting Werner has agreed to join. Hot takes: 1. Woah.* 2. Not worried about upsetting Tammy. Sign a new deal and fight. Lampard wasn't worried when Ballack signed.* 3. Weird that Liverpool wouldn't pay up (if this is true). It's an insanely low sum for one of (the) best young strikers in football.* 4. Agent Rudiger* 5. Masterclass by Marina et al.* *if true.
Happy dance time if true. Super excited and never expected to be in the frame. Room for two hungry young strikers in the squad and giroud as a veteran back up. Damn. I really hope this gets completed.....
Not very soon I would say. The gulf between us and liverpool is vast and we have other areas to work on. The project is going well though as we stand up effectively a whole new team as the old guard slides away. With that said if timo signs it's a big step in the right direction and properly exciting. Still waiting to be gazumped on this. It is 2020 after all.....
What exactly does a deal agreed in 'Prinicple' mean, why is it different to the usual ' a deal has been agreed'? What It means is there is no agreement with the player but an acceptable offer has been made and accepted by the club. Chelsea have permission to speak with Werner. Deal could still be hijacked by Man Utd, Liverpool or Bayern.
If its The Law gonna believe, very good business, probably the realistic deal I wanted most, now lets get a lb Pedro to Roma for 2 year deal apparently and Costa transferred for 6th month Loan to Spanish Tax Fraud Prison Team... edit. apparently he can pay a fine and the owed taxes, phew would not want prisoners to suffer him for 6 months
