Of those teams, only United won the cup (in 97 and 99)

And as of this season three of those teams no longer exist.

In two seconds, I'm tossing this thread in Lot 8 - unless someone actually wants to stick to the topic on hand.

    Just sayin'.

I'm surprised no one has asked if the circle will be unbroken, by and by Emilio, by and by.

Actually, that LA team was coached by a guy you'd even less want coaching your team than Sigi - Octavio Zambrano.

Technically speaking, if you're in purgatory, you're not damned, are you?

Bizarrely enough, I found a Soccernet article from last year about him.

I'd forgotten he was the coach of the 2000 Metros too. Zambrano's like the Ted Nolan of MLS - a coach who seems to have been blackballed for no obvious (at least public) reason. Its nice that he won a Supporters Shield and all with LA, but dude led the Metros to a first-place finish. That makes him some sort of combination of Superman, Stephen Hawking, and a God with the power to make hell freeze over.

Matt, why do you have to always get technical? This is BS, there is no need for that:D

    ok.

We are 0-3 in our drive for seven in 07.

we still have a chance at four more titles and silverware this year.

No one updates the reserves division standings anymore. sometimes you have to hate MLS.

The MLS cup is up for grabs, the supporters shield is up for grabs. Copa Sudamericana is still up for grabs.

that will decide if this is thebest team after
