Also, why would anyone assume another Trump presidency (in which he will be fully unleashed and go full authoritarian from day one) would be good for Jewish Americans?
I'm assuming he means the entire left and by the left he means anyone who has expressed even a modicum of sympathy for Palestinian civilians. Just trying to save us all some time here.
Since this is your pet crusade, we're still waiting for even a half-ass SD example of how we could get a Trump of the Left.
I find it quite funny to read the Democrats being designated as "Left". They are in Dutch terms on the right side of the centre and the right wing side of the Democrats on our conservative right wing.
At NYTs DealBook Summit, Musk repeated his claim that Jewish groups are funding groups that support Hamas This is part of a neo nazi conspiracy theory that jews are funding white genocide
It is hard to compare EU politics and parties to the US though. Context and environment are totally different.
I'm not trusting Musk to be the least bit informed about this, but that's not something that occurs just on the right, nor just among anti-Semites. Unless Haaretz is an organ of anti-Semitism. https://archive.ph/BCrFP The MO of Netanyahu’s policy since his return to the Prime Minister’s Office in 2009 has and continues to be, on the one hand, bolstering the rule of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and, on the other, weakening the Palestinian Authority. His return to power was accompanied by a complete turnaround from the policy of his predecessor, Ehud Olmert, who sought to end the conflict through a peace treaty with the most moderate Palestinian leader – PA President Mahmoud Abbas. . . . In practice, since the Cast Lead operation in late 2008 and early 2009, during the Olmert era, Hamas’ rule has not faced any genuine military threat. On the contrary: The group has been supported by the Israeli prime minister, and funded with his assistance. When Netanyahu declared in April 2019, as he has after every other round of fighting, that “we have restored deterrence with Hamas” and that “we have blocked the main supply routes,” he was lying through his teeth. For over a decade, Netanyahu has lent a hand, in various ways, to the growing military and political power of Hamas. Netanyahu is the one who turned Hamas from a terror organization with few resources into a semi-state body.
Copied and pasted the thread title. Hamas Attacks, (Slaughters hundreds of men women and children. Takes hundreds more hostage. Gains support from many left wing factions) Israel Responds (In their usual OTT way with brute force while chanting “never again” with support from right wingers) Has anything changed yet? Didn’t think so. Nothing will change until Israel stop treating Palestinians like second class people. Taking land and property at a whim. Nor will it change until Hamas has gone. There is no middle ground. So, Rinse and Repeat !!!
You’re just asking for @American Brummie at yell at you again, aren’t you? Dems in the US are a slightly-left-of-center party by most every metric.
Too many progressive leftists in the US hold very not-traditionally-leftwing ideas about political participation. It's all about being an individual expressing their personal choice rather than joining a political coalition in solidarity. "Joe Biden needs to earn my vote!" is not how one fights fascism.
Big time. Any comparison of the Democrats to major Western European center-left parties which ignores how much further to the right the GOP is relative to most traditional major center-right Euro parties seems deeply flawed to me.
Ceasefire my @SS. https://www.yahoo.com/news/shooting-attack-jerusalem-wounds-least-060100141.html Two Hamas gunmen open fire at Jerusalem bus stop, killing three JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Two Hamas gunmen killed three people at a Jerusalem bus stop during morning rush hour on Thursday, and Israel reiterated its commitment to wiping out the Palestinian Islamist faction, whose Oct. 7 killing spree triggered the Gaza war. The attackers, Palestinians from East Jerusalem, were shot dead by off-duty soldiers and an armed civilian, police said. At least eight people were also wounded in the shooting. "The terrorists arrived at the scene by car in the morning, armed with an M-16 rifle and a handgun," police said. "The terrorists began shooting at civilians before subsequently being killed at the scene." Security camera footage obtained by Reuters shows a white car stopping beside the crowded bus stop. Two men then step out, guns drawn, and charge at the crowd as people scatter. Shortly afterwards the Palestinian attackers are themselves shot.
So we can lock up your asinine TOTL thread since El Thicko now understands it completely, right? Awesome.
Also the Dutch just elected as leading candidate for PM someone whose party holds more extreme views than Donald Trump so I don't buy this bullshit from Dutch Monitor for a second.
Has there been an end to violence in the other direction in other areas such as the west bank? I read the other day there'd been something like 140 Palestinians killed in the west bank since 7th Oct. If that violence is still continuing doesn't that mean that Israel has broken the ceasefire? If the violence you're mentioning here means there's no ceasefire, that must also mean that any settler or private Israeli individual or small group must ALSO be an end to the ceasefire... right? I mean, personally I think that's a bit of a daft way of seeing it. We had the breakaway groups of the IRA over here including continuity IRA and 'The real IRA' who committed some acts but the good Friday agreement wasn't abandoned because of them.
Based on what? In any case, if we are going to make leftism and antisemitism synonymous it would be nice to properly define what type of left-wing behavior and rhetoric we are talking about here.
