and yet this asshole still has a job......If he was a MLS hire. WTF Don.

  2. So the fire have 9 international spots and 11 internationals.

This moves makes it clear ( I hope) that Collier is done.
Still leaves an odd man out?

    Who?

    Adams?

    Probably not Campos.

Yes please, unless people like having a player that has the skills of a baby giraffe on the team.

He actually stated "finalizing a move for"
This could be -and likely is- an in league trade .
The likely player would be Axle Sjoberg from Colorado - he doesn't take an international slot- and would be depth

But Collier is still probably getting sent away, right?

    Axle Sjoberg is 6'7"!

If he would be short on skills (I do not know one way or the other), he'd be one damn tall traffic cone.

Our team is rather short, so that'd help.

Ives is reporting US International Kenny Saief who is at Anderlecht is lining a move up to the MLS. He is NOT on the allocation list. So hmmmmm I wonder.......weren't we rumored to be going after an attacking midfielder? I think the rumor said international one but maybe this could be one. Also if we were to get the Swedish CB and it was the one from Colorado hopefully he can return to his old ways.

Is Sapong really just a depth signing, or is he a talent that we need to get on the field. Guy put up 16 2 years ago.

If we paid almost half a million for him and pay him half a million a year, I don't think he is a depth signing.
He is the player on the field when the Fire sell Katai in July, unfortunately.

I think he's pretty young, and was up for defender of the year? maybe two years ago.

    To lazy to wikipedia.

Edit: Okay I did wikipedia and he is 27 years old as he was 24 when drafted in 2015. Was an MLS best 11 selection in 2016.

Edit edit: Just for informational facts reasons. Niko was the last Fire player to be in the Best 11 in 2017. Before him was Magee in 2013. Before Magee? Wilman Conde in 2009.

Full list of Fire best 11s:

    1998- Thornton, Kubik, Armas, Nowak
    1999- Kubik, Armas
    2000- Armas, Nowak, Stoichkov
    2001- Armas, Nowak
    2002- Bocanegra
    2003- Bocanegra, Armas, Beasley, Razor
    2004-
    2005-
    2006- Mapp
    2007-
    2008- Busch, Soumare, Blanco
    2009- Conde
    2010-12-
    2013- Magee
    2014-16-
    2017- Niko
    2018-

Also interesting, my phone autocorrects "Mapp" to "Mapplethorpe". Hmm.

So 17 before Hauptman and 2 under Hauptman, not giving him credit for the 2008 & 2009 seasons because he had nothing to do with roster. Wasn't it around 2010 when he decided to get involved we the team.

Only caveat is that there are a lot more players to compete with lately as there are so many more teams, but adjusting for that, it's still a clear correlation.

Sure. But how many of our players on our 2010-2018 teams would have made the team if there were only 10,12 or 13 teams.

    2010 None
    2011 None
    2012 None
    2013 Magee
    2014 None
    2015 None
    2016 None
    2017 Niko and probably Accam
    2018 Probably Niko and Katai

So that probably there would have been 3 more players that make the team 17 vs. 5

We currently have 11 internationals (two over the the limit) on the roster, this would make 12. So we would have to trade/waive or loan out THREE players. One is VERY easy Collier, why did NRod resign this guy? Two would probably be Campos and Three probably would be Adams or Hasler.

After getting rid of THREE international because we are OVER the limit, we will only have 23 players (Three are keepers).

Didn't NRod say that one of the biggest mistakes last year was not have a full roster, but yet here we are one year later with the same problem.

How does this asshole still have a job?

The highly touted E MLS player is in truth the scouting department. Must have shown promise in FIFA 2018...
