    "Pin" Plata is a pure poacher. If the ball's bouncing around the 6-yard box, he's your man.

    Imagine a Wolyniec with no hustle and all positioning.

    He is NOT, however, going to be springing any lightning counterattacks.

    I have seen this guy play at the Coliseum once and a few more times on tv; this guy can kick some a$$ and can teach Naldo and Kiro some tricks or two and how is done.

    If Plata can mimic the works of Jaime Moreno or Ronald Cerritos. than he will have been worth the gamble.

    but remember this - Moreno(31) / Cerritos(30) both have extensive MLS expericence and know the teams they play.

    Plata(38) does not. and might have the same over-hype machine, the LAG front office that brought us the much balihooed Pando Ramirez.

    who now stands at (38) shots and no goals.

    How will Plata respond to MLS defenders who are generally faster and more physical? and Goalkeepers who are better than anything he will have ever seen in Guatemala?

    For me: I personally believe we have milked Guatemala dry of its good young talent, Ruiz-"loco" Rodriguez-P. Ramirez- fredy thompson.

    There is nothing logical in this move. a 38 year old who nobody else is clammering for is our savior? this is insane.... or is it?

    I'd rather have a comatose Carlos Hermosillo than a certain Brazilian player we've got in our squad right now.

    So would you call that an extra index finger or an extra thumb?

    If he comes to LA, the Galaxy should pay for some plastic surgery.

    This acquisition went from promising to horrible in a split second.

    The first reason, and most important is the fact that if LA does go after him, they have to wait till August.
    By that time we might as well not sign him.

    The second is his age, 38, it seems like we are becoming the Metrostars now.
    I find it hard to believe that at 38, Plata will be able to make strong runs against MLS defenders.

    I really hope this transfer does not happen.

    Why do all the Guatemalan nats have something strange about them?

    Pando= bowlegged

    Plata= 6 fingers

    Ruiz= brain of a 3 year old

    What's up with that? It's almost like a comic-book superhero team.

    After seeing all the chances not finished by the Galaxy lately I say give the guy a chance.. :eek: He supposed to be a talented finisher.. Worth a try for the last half of the season..

    But who else are we gonna have to give up to get him? If it's Naldo, then I'm all for it for the rest of the season. Otherwise, I'm not really up for this trade. We need some fresh young legs out there, not some freak show.
    Is that extra appendage going to need it's own work visa and accomodations? Does it have a name?

    So when he scores a critical away goal for the USMNT in a WCQ we'll give him a shot. :)

    I assume Plata will be playing in the Gold Cup.. Let's use that to decide.. Then we can tell the Galaxy what to do.. ;)
