this one isn't too bad... quaresma might still be too young though. maybe take him out and put one more forward
I don't think the mexicans should be allowed to post dream teams... Serisouly I can respect everyone's opinino, but this goes onto about stupidity.
dude, relax, why don't you try posting a dream team and we'll see if it's any less stupid than anyone else's. One thing i liked about this thread is that there hasn't been much flaming on it... yet. So how about you CONTINUE to respect other's opinions and contribute rather than criticize.
Moron...I think my team would have great chemistry and the addition of Deco, Pauleta, Petit & Carvalho would cover the only weaknesses in Mexico's existing squad. IMHO, my team would beat any body else's....even if you don't think its the best the team man for man.
---------------------------sanchez-------------------------- ------ferreira--------------marquez--------------salcido------ -------torrado-------ronaldo------karimi-----morales------- ---------borgetti----------fonseca--------pauleta-------
haha.... your team its not bad.... IMO its not my fav... by the way i made the thread so don't flame the person who makes the thread. my dream team hmmm I have to decide a formation whats about 3-4-3... with Borgetti, Hashemian, and Pauleta on top.???
Hopefully the ref doesn't notice there are 12 people on this team I won't post my own dream team since the only thing I know about Angola is its vague geographical location, I know more about Iran and Portugal but not enough to know what players are doing well at the moment and what kinds of roles they perform in their club teams and how they've played in the national team. I wouldn't discount the Mexican league so glibly though Astonvilla, it's been on an upward slope since the early 90's and has played Brazilian and Argentine club teams as equals for the last 7 or 8 years, as Pumas' elimination of the defending champions of both leagues (Velez and Corinthians) en route to the final round at this year's Copa Sudamericana will attest. It has by now become predictable that the final teams in these tournaments will be from Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina and if the second league doesn't have the same export rate it's because it is on average the highest paying league of the three and it's more difficult to convince a player to take a chance in Europe when he has to take a massive paycut to do it (Jared Borgetti refused an offer from Hertha Berlin that would have resulted in him receiving just over a million dollars less than what his club Pachuca paid him already). Also worth noting is the participation of players like Luciano Figueroa and Chelito Delgado in the national Argentine squad while they were playing for a Mexican club (Cruz Azul), I'm sure you'd agree that Argentina's not interested in taking players that it thinks are playing in a "backwater league".
I still like my formation GK: Oswaldo Sanchez DF: Carvalho Marquez Salcido MF: Figo Karimi Deco Morales FW: Pauleta Fonseca Ronaldo I picked this 3-4-3 way earlier.
I like the midfield but... exchange morales for Mahdavekia for the strikers....I agree I guess... I dunno Fonseca... IMO hashemian borgetti or nuno gomes could replace the kid.
GK: Ricardo Pereira (POR) RB: Paulo Ferreira (POR) CD: Ricardo Carvalho (POR) LB: Nuno Valente (POR) DM: Rafael Marquez (MEX) RW: Luis Figo (POR) Captain LW: Cristiano Ronaldo (POR) AM: Ali Karimi (IRA) left AM: Mehdi Mahdavikia (IRA) right ST: Pauleta (POR) ST: Jared Borgetti (MEX) With the exception of Mahdavikia (RB, RWB?, RM and RW) the players in my team are all familiar with their posts. I don’t know how good Sanchez is so I kept him out of the line-up, as coach you wouldn’t want to take such a risk. I was impressed by Ricardo’s performance in Euro 2004 so I chose him. Figo and I don’t like Deco so he won’t be on the team, in our opinion anyone who didn’t make it on the Brazilian NT does not deserve a spot on the Group D Dream Team. ; ) Unfortunately I have no real knowledge of (but a great deal of respect for) ‘the black impalas’ so they didn’t make the cut, but it would be clear to anyone that any Group D dream team is just a slightly modified form of the Portuguese NT. A lot will depend on Rafa’s performance because of the big gap in midfield. SUBS: GK: Oswaldo Sanchez (MEX) Defense: Rahman Rezaei (IRA) Midfield: Maniche (POR) Forward and striker: Vahid Hashemian (IRA) Striker: Cuauhtemoc Blanco (MEX)
Considering that in that place there's Ronaldinho and Kaka...of course it would be hard for him to get to the brazilian NT team. But I still think it had more to do with the lack of visibility in FC Porto than his quality. At this moment i'm sure the brazilian coach wouldn't doubt a second about picking him to the squad.
Oswaldo Sanchez is by far the Group's most talented GK, even the Portuguese concede that, also i would add Deco and remove someone else and put borgetti on the bench and replace him with Blanco as a withdrawn striker.
Portugal 1-1... Deco freekick... Portugal 2-1 Brazil... But nice clever excuse to give a spot to Iran or Mexico.
Yesh definitly. Only a few people from Portugal would make the Brasilian NT. Ronaldo, Deco, Figo(Experience?), Andrade, Carvalho
I agree with everyone else, deco is tight, he should be in there. And i will add that oswaldo sanchez should be the GK on the "dream team," he has no real competition at that position.
yup do ur changes to his team and that would be my team..maybe with miguel instead of valente though.
I trust your judgement so here's something we can all agree on: GK: Oswaldo Sanchez (MEX) RB: Paulo Ferreira (POR) CD: Ricardo Carvalho (POR) LB: Luis Miguel (POR) DM: Rafael Marquez (MEX) RW: Luis Figo (POR) Captain LW: Cristiano Ronaldo (POR) AM: Ali Karimi (IRA) left AM: Deco (POR) right ST: Pauleta (POR) ST: Cuauhtemoc Blanco (MEX) SUBS: GK: Ricardo Pereira (MEX) Defense: Rahman Rezaei (IRA) Midfield: Mehdi Mahdavikia (IRA) Forward and striker: Vahid Hashemian (IRA) Striker: Jared Borgetti (MEX) It's a shame, Mehdi's a real quality player.
