I miss Jeff so much!!! I used to go to the Seals games to see him and Cowboy!! I've wondered what happened to him after the Seals went under.

If i'm not mistaken, I heard he was coaching some youth premier teams or something like that here locally. Baich was my wifes first Clash Crush.....when he left, it was Bower, now it's Graz. :( My wife the "Quake Ho"

I had heard that too a while back.

Your wife has good taste!! We seem to like the same players. Well, except, I never see you mention that she likes Cowboy. :)

One of the other women that attends with us has a heat-on for Troy, maybe my wife doesn't wanna tread on her imaginary territory. Kind of a "Quake Ho" unspoken courtesy I guess. :D

Is there any such thing as a "Club Quake Member" ho, or an "aged, ex-amateur player" ho??

Best to pretend that what it portends doesn't pertain.

Hey LDB were you sitting in section 130 last game? I saw some guy sit in the front row with his S.O. Or at least he sat, his S.O. was glued to the rail watching the Quakes warmup until the moment the game began... made me remember your posts. ;)

One other great goal- back in the early years- probably '96 or '97 - Victor Mella, the only Clasher running that day, took a ball from midfield about 15 yards north and unleashed a cannon into the left upper 90. Stunner of a shot.

The Greatest Shot I ever saw was a 15 yr old kid at half time of a Clash match, nailed a 20 yard right through the specified hole in a tarp to win a Honda Accord! I'd like to have seen the look on the Honda Dealership Owner's face....."They told me the hole was barely big enough for the ball and it would be too far to ever make it." Hahahaha!

That was the last contest where I saw an actual skilled kid get to shoot.

I remember that! Was it only 15 yards out? I remember him shooting from near the midline once or twice and dang, at least one of those had a chance!

I remember that one too! It was great. After that I think all the shots had to be taken like 40 yards out. I would always shake my head and say, "If they can make that, give 'em the car but for Pete's sake put them on the Clash too!"

Thanks BerwynBlazers! They also showed the goal from two different angles during the LA/SJ game telecast. Ahhh....

I was holding of posting on this thread until I saw Ekelunds goal.

It was worth the wait (sorry Ian...but what about the Pools stuffing the enemy :) ?).

I think it has to be the most spectacular. The best build up I would say the Lagos one against Tampa last year. As far as the most important, probably a tie between Dayak's against Miami and the two in the MLS cup final. I can still remember standing there frozen for a couple of seconds when DeRo;s goal hit the back of the net before going crazy and hugging anyone I could get close to...(I think even tried a Galaxy fan...didn't go down to well...LOL). It was the best experience as a soccer fan...supporting Hartlepool there arn't too many moments where you have a chance to win a championship!!
