You're looking at it form an outsider's view, while Sounders is looking at it from an insider's view. And this is what I've been trying to get across to everybody who tries to poke holes in Republican/evangelical Christian logic. Our view of the who they are and how they act is not in the same room as how they view the world and how they act. Basically it's like telling two sports teams in different sports to play each other. They are both going to look at the competition through the paradigm of their own sport.
I don't like religious wackos impinging on people's rights & especially not via the government. So clearly I am right & they are wrong!

There’s no fascism thread si I’m putting this here. https://johnganz.substack.com/p/the-jockcreep-theory-of-fascism Essay claims there are 2 kinds of fascists…the jock/douche, and the creep/loser
Let's see. He wears nappies and cheats at golf. He brags about grabbing and kissing women without their consent. He slept with a porn star. He was working on his side hustle while his wife was pregnant. $200 on "creep/loser."
This is the better essay from Ganz on the emerging fascism represented by Thiel Where to begin? First of all, yes, Thiel’s libertarianism is about freedom—freedom for him and people like him, the entrepreneurial elite of the capitalist class. He’s openly antidemocratic. In an essay for the Cato Institute, Thiel once wrote, “I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible…” Why? Because if you empower the demos, they will eventually vote for restrictions on the power of capitalists. and therefore, restrictions on their “freedom.” He continues, “Since 1920, the vast increase in welfare beneficiaries and the extension of the franchise to women — two constituencies that are notoriously tough for libertarians — have rendered the notion of ‘capitalist democracy‘ into an oxymoron.” In that 2009 essay, Thiel imagines a kind of futurist program of utopian projects “beyond politics” in cyberspace or “seasteading,” but it’s clear now he’s returned to believing in politics, or at least an anti-political form of politics. https://johnganz.substack.com/p/the-enigma-of-peter-thiel
Its remarkable how this stuff is openly anti-democratic - he openly said so recently yet the media don't report that
Donnie is a former jock, FT creepy douche and BIGLY loser. And IMO one of the very worst Americans this country has ever shit out.

Innerestin map here At first glance, this looks like a voting map. But it’s a life expectancy map. pic.twitter.com/qFket9Izem— Mueller, She Wrote (@MuellerSheWrote) April 2, 2023
It could just as easily be a map of religiosity, child mortality, illiteracy, obesity, or bestiality convictions.
I am a little surprised that my pretty red county is dark blue for life expectancy. I guess that diet of beer, cheese curds and Friday fish fry is not THAT bad, after all.
Drunkest counties in America: I think I mentioned this before but Wisconsin drinks more brandy than the entire rest of the world combined.
Used in a proper Wisconsin Old Fashioned. Sconnies love an Old Fashioned (or six) almost as much as beer
That red spot closest to the middle of Iowa is, I'm guessing, Johnson County, home of the University of Iowa. Get rid of the fraternities and the MFA in creative writing, and that mofo turns green on the map.
