I mean....c'mon!! Who takes their kid to McDonalds for ice cream!

 

It took a bit of getting used to hearing the tinkle of an ice cream truck in Dec and Jan where I am. It's like tinsel....very distracting.

 

If there is tinkle in the ice cream truck, DON'T buy the ice cream.

 

If Arkansas is going to drop down to Mississippi's level it's going to take work. States don't decline just by themselves.

 

They always came by when I was taking my Sunday afternoon nap.

 

Schools there will just resolve to the 3 Rs, flat earth, and no transgender bathrooms.

 

All adults smiling, all 3 kids looking concerned. lol

 

I guess to them the whole state looks like West Memphis.

 

Ten years ago I would have been sure this was a fake (comic) article, five years ago I would not have been sure one way or the other without checking and now I know it to be true without bothering to check.

One way I look at is if companies were willing to use child labor then, there's definitely people who want to use it now and would cheer on repealing child labor laws. And I came around to that view when I was 23.

 

I always do want to ask the Prosperity Gospel types if they worship Mammon over Jesus.

 

They worship Mammon Jesus! It's the new and improved Jesus with extra mammon - he's sacrilicious!

 

It was good enough in biblical times, so it's good enough for us!

So last weekend, a small local bookstore had drag queen story hour. Of course, there was a small conservative protest, and of course, there was a massive counterprotest. I think I only saw 3-4 conservative protestors. I mentioned before, but Royal Oak for the last 30-40 years has been a place where alternative culture has flourished, even if it's gentrified. Which mean incredibly LGBTQ friendly. It also borders Ferndale, a town known for its gay community, and a town called Pleasant Ridge, a wealthy gay town. Then there's the other towns close by that are relatively liberal. All within a 5 minute drive of each other. And as I mentioned before, the people protesting this weren't from here. So I think they were in for a shock.

Did the MI GOP learn anything? Nope.
