I have said it in another thread, but Columbus Gold fits the better than any other sponsor. Half the crewsers already work there, and the other half...well maybe some of the club's talent can see themselves working the center circle at halftime instead of the pole.
You shut your mouth. All of you who speak ill of the mighty Yuengling. Its nectar from the heavens. If it rained Yuengling I would flood my house every chance I got.
You guys are missing the boat with this beer sponsor thing. I'm telling you, we gotta get more college students to attend games:
looks like i'm back to these previous suggestions... or PS - I've joked with McCullers about White Castle before, being a stadium sponsor, and us adding turrets to the stadium and over on one side having a big old White Castle stand that looks like a drive-thru. And don't forget that for a time White Castle did some sponsorship at Promowest and that place next door I think was called something to do with White Castle... any help?
And there are also these two fine mockups that I would be remiss to not post... on the money front... and on the "yeah right but we all wish front..."
So if we don't have a sponsor to start the season, will we bring back the old Columbus Crew logo? Or will we just leave the shirt blank?
I vote "blank." As for what the Crew actually does, it depends. Are we getting new jerseys this year? If so, they can put the old logo on the new jerseys. If not, leaving the jerseys blank might save money.
The bigger question.....will they now have another equipment sale to get rid of all the jerseys with Glidden? And if so, will they screw over the season ticket holders again?
We've put a few different mock-ups on the Facebook page in the last month based on requests. Most have been local companies.
It really is outstanding. Over the holiday break we had three bottle cases at our house. It was beautiful.
It's just about the only good thing about living over here in PA. We've discovered thhat for some reason the natives just call it "Lager". You almost never hear it called Yuengling. Asking a bartender for a Lager was awkward at first, since 90% of what he's got back there is "lager" but if you don't they know you're from someplace else and they trash your car. As for the shirt sponsor thing I know I'll catch hell for saying this but it seems to me that there are plenty of prospects in Columbus and the fact that we're not going to have one is I think a pretty embarrassing statement about our FO. No stadium sponsor, no shirt sponsor (and the one we did have was a league acquisition and a Cleveland company - or, more accurately, a Dutch company trying to rebound a brand), no nothing. And they make crappy paint anyway. Excuses about the economy don't explain the failure of the FO to produce in this area. They need to get the job done.
