Better yet, let HSV take Boumsong, then have Newcastle go after Onyewu.

I didn't realize that the 'Boro club name is all that important.

    Bridge is a left back.

HSV's given up interest in Boumsong, while Juve now wants to sign him (how the mighty have fallen).

Here's a new development that I believe would be good - Central Defender Jeff Strasser is set to leave Borussia M'gladenbach for England. A balding American already captains them, they're currently in 7th in the Bundesliga standings, and need a Central Defender. Takers for Gooch?

just more speculation. At this point I would be surprised if anything happened before January. If there is a deal in the works, someone's been working real hard to keep it quiet.

I wonder why he didn't play. Nobody started a thread for the game...

Chris Courtney is tuned into the goings-on in Jupiler but I didn't see his name in the byline.

Boro, once listed as a possible destination for Gooch, is looking to bring Jonathon Woodgate in on loan.

It looks like we could be back in for Woodgate on a loan deal. Also the Huth rumors seem to be picking up steam. I rate Gooch above Huth but a in form and healthy Jonathan Woodgate is better than both imo. Now if Woody could just stay healthy.

Does anyone else think that maybe Gooch is accidently in the catbird's seat. At least through the first couple of games, it looks like some and perhaps all the teams that he has been linked to are in need of defensive help still. They'll be desperate by January.

What, exactly, does an in form and healthy woodgate look like? I thought it was simply another mythical beast.
On Gooch, there's a lot of transfer rumors flying in these last days, and I'm not seeing his name mentioned.

Better than John terry not quite as good as Rio Ferdinand.

I thought it was more like the head of john terry, feet of Rio F , claws of a bear and wings of screech owl kind of thing. But if you insist he'll actually play again, I'll buy that.;)

If you're truely concerned with Woody staying healthy, you would have to admit that Newcastle is the worst place for him to go. Not getting injured at Newcastle is like getting shut out by Hannover 96 this year. Someone may be able to do it, but then again, they suck to much to matter.

I heard that Chuck Norris and Brad Friedel are both afraid of a healthy Woodgate.

And I think Eddie Pope could start for Boro much less Gooch.

Am I just being crazy or would Hamburg be the perfect fit for Gooch right now? Champions League team on the rise, a better league, buddies to hang out with in Feilhaber and Zimmerman and, oh yeah - my favorite team!
