Tomorrow night, Standard Liege will have its first real test against KV Brugge (last season champ) While Gooch & Standard are first with 15/18 points, they did not really encounter real opposition so far this season. This game will confirm... or destroy Gooch's defense. Remember last season, KV Brugge stopped Standard Liege in its victory serie by catching home Onyewu's team 4 to 1. Last game Video Summary: ... And the GREAT Mickey ADUBATO for the YA recap: Yanks Abroad.com

Re: Gooch: 9/21 Standard Liege - KV BRUGGE (Wed Sep 21st 8:30PM) I like how it's obvious they had to squeeze Gooch's picture to fit him into the assigned space. Sachin
Re: Gooch: 9/21 Standard Liege - KV BRUGGE (Wed Sep 21st 8:30PM) I didn't realize at first that you had made the nice graphic. I assumed it was a professional job from a newspaper. Nice stuff! Sachin
Re: Gooch: 9/21 Standard Liege - KV BRUGGE (Wed Sep 21st 8:30PM) sure, don't stop rowing... it was an amateur job (this one will make BS selected in the XXX googles)
If they make a sequel to the recent Shaft re-make.... You KNOW who get the starring role.... He's a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad mudda...
49', Gooch missed the interception of a long pass to Victor, Deflandre was there to save Runje's a.s yeah... sh.t happens
Re: Gooch: 9/21 Standard Liege - KV BRUGGE (Wed Sep 21st 8:30PM) Looks like they got the right number of players on the field now, but how come Gooch didn't pay attention to the memo that told them all to wear red today? Thanks Omi! This would be an excellent result for Standard and establish them as solid contenders for the League title. Club Brugge and Anderlecht have dominated the Belgian League in recent decades. With or without bribery (!), Standard haven't been champs since the early 80's. List of Belgian champs: http://www.rsssf.com/tablesb/belgchamp.html
De nada, man 82nd, extraordinary reflex from Stijnen (Brugge GK), who dove on his line to deflect Onyewu's (AGAIN) volley.
FULL TIME, I know it's early but pick up a beer, that's the rule! Here is the ranking updated 1 Standard 7 18 2 Anderlecht 7 17 3 Westerlo 7 14 4 FC Bruges 7 14 5 Zulte-Waregem 7 13 6 La Gantoise 7 13
Thanks for the PBP, but WTF is Gooch doing around the opposing goal up 2-0? Or did they decide it would be more exciting to give up a couple of counter attacks?
Part of his job is to overload on corners and indirect FK's. Enough people back there to secure. That's the role of the DM (Assou Ekkotto) to shift down when the Stopper goes upfront. And there is no reason to play defense, unless you're coached by Trappatoni
To close out: Mickey ADUBATO will have a recap on www.yanks-abroad.com later on tonight, don't miss it.
Hopefully Standard's website will have the goal posted before too long...someone care to link to it when it is up?
