Doesn't Pille the erudite ball look a bit too much like Naglium, the cruel, curious being in the Star Trek: the Next Generation episode titled "Where the Silence Has Lease"?

Apparently, this isn't the only Star Trek connection to the 2006 World Cup mascots. Here's what came up when I Googled "Pille": **
Just 'cos I wear lederhosen doesn't mean I know German. Can anyone translate?

Haven´t read the Wiki, but "Pille" is translated in english "pill", medicine. And "Pille" is in germany useful as a slang word for a ball.

And the connection to Star Trek is, that in the german dubbing, the nickname of Dr. Mc Coy is: "Pille".
