Re: Gold Cup Final Anyone been to a US vs Mexico game in LA? I assume we will be out numbered etc but I am pondering bringing my wife and friends along. Wanted to know what people thought of the idea (may or may not sit in the supporters section)
Re: Gold Cup Final I am not sitting in the supporters section. But I used US soccer's code to buy tickets from Ticketmaster, so I'd hope that if Mexican fans actually bought those tickets, they'd at least be sane Mexican fans. We'll just find out.
Re: Gold Cup Final In every game except this one because I am going with a group of people to this game who didn't want to sit there.
Re: Gold Cup Final I would think if there were ever a game to sit among US fans... US-Mexico in LA would be it...
Re: Gold Cup Final The hostility in America is overstated. Lots of good family people go to the games to support Mehico.
Re: Gold Cup Final Obviously you're going to have a higher % of d!ckheads in Pasadena than you would in Boston or something, but it's nothing that would preclude me from sitting somewhere other than the designated USA section. Azteca, Saprissa, etc. definitely. Here, not so much.
Re: Gold Cup Final Technically it should be a US section, as it was sold through US soccer, but who knows. I might try and sneak in the supporters section.
Re: Gold Cup Final I thought the Glendale one was worse, thats why US Soccer hasn't come back to AZ. Oh well, probably just depends on what each person saw.
Re: Gold Cup Final I've been to four US-Mexico games, and this is the only one where I didn't have any problems. In Houston, Columbus, and Chicago, it had a very hostile feel towards it. In all three cities, I was covered in beer that was thrown by Mexican fans from above after goals. I own one of the BAF's, and it was covered in beer that was thrown at it after the Gold Cup final in Chicago. In Houston, I watched Mexican fans fight each other after the game, and three El Tri fans jump a US fan in the parking lot. Two Mexican fans were also shot after this game, after throwing objects at a passing car, whose driver got out and shot at them. In Columbus, there were multiple " almost " fights before and after the game that I saw. I'm expecting the worst in Pasadena if it is indeed a US-Mexico final, especially when the US wins.
Re: Gold Cup Final Probably the best if you do, don't know how though because if the section is full (which it will be) the seats are assigned.
Re: Gold Cup Final If it is indeed a US-Mexico final, I will be hosting a pre-game party.. I live pretty close to the RB.. Ya'll are invited, don't forget the slickers.
Re: Gold Cup Final Sub. I'm gonna do my best to make this game (should the US be in it) but because I just started my new job, I have to take care of some other expenses. And also, the Spain game I have made the first priority.
Re: Gold Cup Final go to a mexico tailgate in US wear? I don't know. I am taking my friend who is Hispanic to the American tailgate, so it would probably work out.
Re: Gold Cup Final Yes, no doubt. Spain first priority? A potential US / Mexico Gold Cup Final with a Fifa Confed Cup berth on the line should be the priority!
