The US will likely bring mostly younger MLS players like Kenny Cooper and Chris Rolfe with some Euros who aren't in SA like Eddie Johnson and Michael Parkhurst.

Yeah! Placide is the French U 23 Team keeper right now. He hasn't made a choice yet for the senior level. We'll see in the future.

We were supposed to have 2 more reinforcements for the Gold Cup but finally they will not be there . One is a defender named Sertile but he is going to try out a new Club in Portugal and the other one is a midfielder playing for Vannes in French 2nd named Kennel Pierre-Louis but his passport is not ready yet. It will be too late.

We have also called up PSG player Jean Eudes Maurice but he declined the invitation not to miss prea season as he just renewed his contract for 3 years wih PSG and PSG has changed Coach.

An other possibility for the future is Fabrice Picault playing for Cagliari reserve.Haitian Federation has eyes on him already. He is also a US citizen.

Jean Jacques Pierre (FC Nantes/ France ) doesn't want to come, he has problems with the Federation.

    -------

Two unattached players, although one (Sutton) has just been released from TFC in part to make room under the cap to sign the other one (Gerba, currently training with TFC).

Lots of big names missing for us, but at the same time not what I'd call a "B" team either. After underachieving in WC qualifying yet again, hopefully this team will perform much better & give us something to be excited about again.

Young international defender Jerome Meschak will miss the Gold Cup, he is going to try out Club Desportivo Chaves in Portugal 2nd with an other young haitian midfielder Joseph Guemsly.

    Haitianos para ver
    C.A.

    US TEAM

Goalkeepers: Jon Busch (Chicago), Troy Perkins (Valerenga, Norway), Luis Robles (Kaiserslautern, Germany).
Defenders: Steve Cherundolo (Hannover, Germany), Jimmy Conrad (Kansas City), Clarence Goodson (Start, Norway), Jay Heaps (New England), Chad Marshall (Columbus), Michael Parkhurst (Nordsjaelland, Denmark), Heath Pearce (Hansa Rostock, Germany).
Midfielders: Davy Arnaud (Kansas City), Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Colin Clark (Colorado), Sam Cronin (Toronto), Brad Evans (Seattle), Stuart Holden (Houston), Logan Pause (Chicago), Robbie Rogers (Columbus).
Forwards: Freddy Adu (Monaco, France), Brian Ching (Houston), Kenny Cooper (Dallas), Charlie Davies (Hammarby, Sweden), Santino Quaranta (D.C. United).

Not what we were expecting. A LOT of new guys, many of whom are undeserving. We got some A teamers like Dolo and Ching I guess but thats it. Then you got C/D teamers like Heaps (maybe hes an F :D) or Pause. Really strange roster, not sure what they were thinking, creativity in the midfield will be at a minimum. I'll still watch but I highly doubt this team will come close to being able to compete with CR/Honduras/Mexico....just not enough talent. I think Costa Rica takes this Gold Cup.

You know what, in a way i hope they do too. Maybe that way they'll stop crying about it being a fake MM tournament that only the USA and Mexico can win

I don't see Kenton, Centeno, Celso, or any other members of the national team crying and saying its a MM tourny. Yeah maybe some people like Gethomas :D...may think this cup is crap...but myself and pretty sure many CR fans want to win this cup because out of the "big three" we're the only ones who haven't been able to win it. And of course it's a good way to earn some recognition outside of CONCACAF and get some good teams interested in playing us in a couple of friendly's. I hope we win this cup because all we've been able to win is the UNCAF which isn't special.
