    Tailgate:

Hosted by the Empire Supporters Club and New York Brigade of Sam’s Army

Food- Pulled pork, hot dogs, cornbread, beef for chili dogs, pasta salad.
Drinks- Mostly bring your own, but we'll have some water & some beer too.

Tailgate is free, but tips are accepted. We'll bring as much food as we can, but, it may run out if tons of people show.

Location: Lot 16A. A is the front of lot 16, right outside the entrance to gate C. People will be in the lot from 9am onwards. Tailgate food will open around 11/11:30 and will run to 1:30. At 1:30, we'll breakdown and go inside around 1:45/2:00pm. Note, they should start charging for parking around 11. Parking is usually $15, but could be $ 20.

Getting into lot 16 is a pain, as they don't generally allow you to drive around the complex all that much, so try to enter at toll plaza F if you can.

Also, due to the construction of the new Giants Stadium, there are not a lot of parking spots available at GS. So, if you can, carpool or take the train. Details on the train are below, but know that the trains will be full and that purchasing tickets could be pretty time consuming, so leave early and plan for that.

    Game information:

We'll be doing a march-in to the stadium at 1:45pm, looking to be in our seats by 2pm or there about. USA fans will be sitting in 101. Know that 101 is sold out, and Giants Stadium doesn't believe in general admission. So, plan to sit somewhere near your seat. Security can be on the strict side, so try to be calm and just keep it under control. Standing on seats is not allowed.

    Prohibited items:

Flags are okay, and you can hang some stuff from the lower bowl. Flag Poles are not allowed. Sticks are not allowed. If you have drums/instruments, please try to be at the tailgate by 12pm, we may have to bring them in separately. More details to follow. If you have any questions, send an e-mail to themetro@gmail.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks.

    Directions-

    By Car

    1. From the George Washington Bridge

Follow Interstate 95 South signs to the New Jersey Turnpike south western spur (Sports Complex to exit 16W), which provides direct access to the Sports Complex parking areas. Bear to the left around the Izod arena and go straight, followed by a right into the stadium at toll plaza F.

    2. From the Lincoln Tunnel

Take Route 3 West and follow the signs to the Izod arena, rt. 120/Patterson Plank Road. Take the entrance to the Izod center and loop around to toll plaza F.

    3. Traveling North on the New Jersey Turnpike

Follow the Eastern spur (Lincoln Tunnel) to exit 16E to Route 3 West, follow directions above for entrance via the Izod center parking area. You can also take the western spur directly to the stadium, but know that it is very hard to get into lot 16A from there.

    4. Traveling South on the Garden State Parkway

Garden State Parkway South to exit 163 (Route 17). Follow Route 17 to Paterson Plank Road. Take Paterson Plank Road east to the Sports Complex.

    5. Traveling North on the Garden State Parkway

Garden State Parkway North to exit 153A (Route 3). Follow Route 3 East to the Sports Complex.

    6. From Holland Tunnel or Brooklyn-Staten Island Bridge Crossings

Take New Jersey Turnpike extension to the Turnpike North. Follow directions above.

The New Meadowlands Rain Line is the fast, convenient, and affordable way to the AC/DC, U2 and Bruce Springsteen concerts at Giants Stadium. Trip time is just 23 minutes from Hoboken Terminal and 30 minutes from the Frank R. Lautenberg Station at Secaucus Junction. Giants Stadium is just steps away from the Meadowlands Rail Line. Service runs every 10-20 minutes before the event, hourly during the event, and every 10 minutes afterwards.

They didn't let us through the gate until 10, we had to sit out there about 20 minutes, and got charged $20 for our trouble. Guess we went to the wrong gate.

No, they did this at every gate. First time they've done that. Standard procedure is 3 hours early; this time, it was 5, and they locked the gates for ~ 15 minutes while they set up at 10am. Ridiculous to make people wait while they counted out their change; you are either ready to charge, or you aren't.

Ah so we were not quite early enough then. First in line, lucky us.
