Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Mexico need to play in the biggest stadiums. They will fill out a NFL stadium, so there is no use putting them up in the Home Depot Center and miss out on $20 million.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Not sure if this is a sign of progress or not but the Gold Cup website now has a page saying... "Ticket information to be disclosed soon. Stay tuned for updates." http://www.goldcup.org/page/GoldCup/TicketsDetail/0,,12802~2292666,00.html
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? I think I remember seeing that last week. Not really "new" information.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Ah ok, I hadn't come across it yet and wasn't sure if it was recently added or not.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? They've had that for a bit. We're still just at the wait and see with CONCACAF.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? according to the FMF The Groups and "official" Match dates will be announced Next Tuesday March 8th... here's the link http://www.femexfut.org.mx/portalv2/aspx/WEB_DetalleNoticia.aspx?pnIDNtca=31471 its about time don't you think? But then again this is CONCACAF so I guess we should be thankful they're not pushing it back another month...
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? CONCACAF has announced that will be announcing the groups and schedule for the 2011 Gold Cup in June of 2012.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Your news is out of date. They decided the dates will be announced after the 2013 Confederation's Cup. They're planning to consult Madame Merta of Palm Springs Psychics to determine who will win the Gold Cup to determine who to send to the Confederations Cup.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Source? Not to sound doubtful, but just to make sure that we don't get Duane'd* again. * Duane'd [adjective]. Led to believe in the certainty of something, only to later learn that it was grossly incorrect. See: CSA Confirmation, 4th spot for CONCACAF.

Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? SBI kind of sucks, though I'm glad for its existence. Creditor's initial post had Nicaragua in instead of Cuba. Doesn't he know the Caribbean gets 4 spots, CA 5, and NA 3. Some soccer site, the head writer has no idea how his own continental championship works.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? I was about to say (in re: your post in another thread). If Cuba were kicked out, then Antigua and Barbuda (the 5th-best team from the Caribbean Cup, on goals scored) would be the next team in.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Has anyone been to the Gold Cup website yet? There's a video previewing the venues and it shows the games that will be played there, even though the "draw" hasn't happened.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? I'm pretty sure that the video's correct - Diez of Honduras seems to be backing it up.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? You know there is no draw. Only spectacles. a Mexico, Cuba, El Salvador, Costa Rica b Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica, Grenada c USA, Panama, Guadeloupe, Canada Swerve! groups are already posted in the video on the webpage. posted in the video.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Yep, got mine from the video, though I suppose the video could be wrong, but I doubt it. Group A: Mexico Costa Rica El Salvador Cuba Group B: Honduras Jamaica Guatemala Grenada Group C: United States Panama Canada Guadeloupe Group A by far the toughest, with Costa Rica as the #2 and El Salvador as the #3. That's half the Hex in one group. And as a result, if El Salvador lose twice (as is certainly possible), then the other two groups could produce 4 QF teams, and are wide open. Predictions: A: Mexico, Costa Rica B: Honduras, Jamaica C: United States, Panama 3rds: Guadeloupe, Grenada (going longshots here). I think El Salvador is the next best team, but will lose twice in group and not make it.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? ...but the video does not give any indication of who will play who in the quarterfinals and beyond. I guess we'll have to wait for the wrap-up article later today.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? http://www.concacaf.com/staticFiles/f0/6d/0,,12813~159216,00.pdf LOL, Now they rearranged the qfs June 18 - NJ A2 vs B2 A1 vs B3 or C3 June 19 - DC B1 vs C2 C1 vs A3 or B3 instead of originally A1 vs B2 B1 vs A3/C3 and A2 vs C2 C1 vs A3/B3 Practically ensuring the money makers can't meet before they want them to.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Kind of what I expected. I knew either Guatemala or El Salvador would be in Group B and they chose Guatemala.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? I had these bozos figured out pretty well, and they throw in that little swerve.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? It is what it is, and he was the only site even reporting about the Gold Cup draw.
Re: Gold Cup 2011--USA Venues and groups?? Really? No shame? That was my first thought. For one part I am glad Canada didn't get to lead a group, not deserved. But this??? really?!?!? All they had to do was place Guadeloupe and Grenada along with USA and CAN to call it the "we could not come up with anything easier" group. (when I say knew I really mean believed) I knew CRC was gong to end up with MEX (see my post) as I knew Honduras would be in Group B. But I thought they would have the decency to throw at least Jamaica or El Salvador at the US. And the kicker, they gave them Canada instead. All in all great, I rather beat CRC, SLV, JAM and HON to face whoever comes out from the cakewalk side, and have no one saying we had an easy group. Shame on you CONCACAF /p
