I also didn't receive a souvenir tickets. There is no news of refunds or emails canceling the delivery of souvenirs tix at all. Even though it's a small thing, it's very disappointing.

A year after the final I finally finished my Final’s poster with my souvenir ticket.

What an unforgettable ride. This was my third World Cup, I had been to the group stages the previous two WCs but had a feeling that this one was for us so I went to the semis, 3rd place and the final this time.

See you all in the US in a few years. I’ll have plenty of games within driving distance so I’m looking forward to getting a good mix of games/teams this time around.

    Very nice indeed.
I’ve been procrastinating all year about getting a WC frame done up and I finally went to a local business that specialises in this type of stuff last week. Using 12 tickets of the 21 games me and my son attended plus a 4-5 of my favourite photos. I might also put in that little souvenir wristband from the final if it can get squeezed in. Thanks for the idea.
Yeah, a year ago today I was lucky enough to be at the final as well. Have been thinking about it all day. A incredible occasion and game. Was an honour to be there and a dream come true. Got to Lusail stadium around 3.45pm and pretty much got booted out by security around 11.15pm. 7 and a half hours just flew.

Amazing time. I think about it almost daily. Specially with Copa America tickets being so high and hard to get.

It won't. FIFA doesn't relinquish control of ticketing.

I heard some nfl season ticket holders received tickets for copa america. Will it be the same for the WC? How bad has copa America ticketing been?

I used to say that a "world cup in Qatar was the worst idea ever", and here we are revisiting this thread 1.5 year later hahaha. It will be fine, I'm sure you are going to have a blast in 2026.

Copa was easy to get tickets for initially, i got all the tickets I wanted without any challenge, including the semi final in New York. Pricing has been pretty bad tho. All the tickets I got would be in sections that FIFA would probably consider to be category 3, but I have had to be pay $300 (CAD) plus per game. And i would say most tickets were scooped up by resellers, and prices are crazy high, particularly for the in demand team. I expected pricing would be this bad though, and it will be 2x more during the world cup in 2026.

Ha! Didn’t think this thread would revive. Yeah, FIFA will for sure team up with a Ticketmaster or a Seatgeek. Infantino is already counting the dollars. He will not pass up the chance to grab as much money as he can. It will be a harsh introduction to anybody outside the US not familiar with these two “gems.” Just scan the Copa America tix thread for an introduction to the way we do things in the U.S.!

To be fair to FIFA. They will make sure some tickets are available for those who aren’t rich. It’ll just be the last row in an 80,000 plus stadium.

A number of the stadiums have seat licenses which give the owners the right to buy tickets in those seats for events.
To avoid lawsuits, I would assume those holders will have the rights in the World Cup.
dont think it will make much difference, though, if those seats in are premium areas.
They would have gone into the hospitality pot, anyway.

As for Qatar - that was the best WC ever (I have been to 5).
Be wary of what the European media say about anything outside North America or Europe.

Ps - I have already planned my first week at 26. (Regardless of whether I have tickets).

Not necessarily. I think the Atlanta Falcons have the most generous packages and even they list it as 'select' events. Basically, unless you are a Founders level, you don't have the option to buy your seat for the College Football Playoff Final. I don't think any of the stadiums give unilateral rights to that seat for ALL events.

I'm still cautiously optimistic FIFA will not want to relinquish control of ticket purchases. First off, why would they? They have proven they can handle it and using a SeatGeek or Ticketmaster just means they lose out on money. If they do it all themselves they collect 100%. Yes, the fees they collect on the secondary market from TM or SG would be good but I don't think it would make up for lost venue on being the primary.

Has FIFA ever use a 3rd party recently for ticket sales? Why would they start now just because it is in the US? Also these stadiums do have deals with SG or TM to sell tickets but also FIFA coul have stipulated in the initial bid that they would be the platform.

Its sort of the devil you know... I know how FIFA sells tickets, it's not exactly good, but I understand it feel I can be successful. Also, I would be absolutely stunned if FIFA used more than 1 reseller if they did that route. I really think they will keep it internal.

Agreed, I hope, and am cautiously optimistic, that FIFA mandated to the stadiums that it would be their way or the highway. And that would include selling through FIFA's ticket platform, without priority to stadium seat license holders.

BTW -- FIFA could easily collect resale fees through its own ticketing platform. They already took a small percentage at Qatar for resales -- they could easily increase that percentage to whatever amount they wanted, and presumably keep most or all of those fees.

Not sure I agree with that. FIFA will sell as many hospitality tickets as people are willing to buy. The hospitality tickets can be crappy seats in the most sought-after games, as we saw in Qatar. The PSL tickets will not come out of any hospitality "pot." To the contrary, they will eat into normal ticket pots.
