The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has approved an application from Insight Sports Limited to operate "The Soccer Net" as a pay digital "Category 2 Specialty Programming" television service.

Insight Sports has announced that it will use the licence to launch GolTV Canada in October.

I highly doubt it will make any impact.

Guess you don't know much (anything?) about GolTV

    http://www.goltv.tv/eng_index.php

Much, much more than the EPL

Impact? What kind of impact do you expect TV to make?

Actually I do, I read about it a few days ago. My comment was more to go with "The Score."

Great news. Sunday games have always been a piss off here in Vancouver. Shaw had them as PPV, but he thing is they never existed here. They use to be listed all week, up until they start time, but come game time they would be replaced by some crap movie. Nothing like waking up at 6:45 to watch a game only to be disappointed to find even though its listed all week that its not on tv. This is great news.

I hope Gol TV Canada plays the same lineup as in the states and doesn't cost a fortune. Maybe it'll be added to the existing Rogers digital sports package.
