Good write up on Rimando and what he went though this season. Apprently he is expecting about 100 family members at the final. Also: Namoff sat our practice, but expects to go this weekend (thank God) and Stewart decline comment on a move back to Europe. And: Three staff members won MLS awards: Jamie O'Connor (marketing), Doug Hicks (public relations) and Brian Goodstein (athletic trainer). http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A37841-2004Nov9.html BTW, I think that we will see a United article everyday for until the Cup, but that just a personal guess.
I'm trying to save the picture to make an avatar but no luck. If anyone has a minute and can help me out, please let me know. As for the article, another good read.
which picture? you can hit the printscreen key and paste it into a photo editor if you can't right click it on the page.
I think whoever has that banner should send it to Nicky as a wedding gift, assuming somebody still has it.
McOwen came up with and made the banner. In the print edition of the Post there's a full page picture of Nick on the front sports page. Also congrats to Doug Hicks, a well deserved honor. He helped the Barra out tremendously this year.
And what a PR challenge Doug had this year with all of Freddy's appointments and interviews. Whew! Congrats, Doug! GM
Nice article on Nick and props to my favorite DCU player of all time Mark Simpson for the job he did with Perkins and Rimando this year. Bill
Hah! Say hello to Mr. Hand! Seriously, that was a very nice article (it covers the main part of the front page of the Sports section in the hard copy of the Post) and hopefully we'll have more leading up to Sunday. Biggest non-Freddy profile I remember seeing this year.
There were a couple of mentions about the placement. For those who don't buy the paper, here's what it looked like: Kind of impressive, no? For those who don't do so, you really should buy the paper (home delivery counts most). the Post has been a good friend...we should support those who support us. Without the circulation (which is slowly dropping) The Post can't charge as much for advertising, which means that the amount of news hole goes down, which means that soccer stories must compete for declining space... And, yes, I used to work for The Post, so this is not entirely a neutral pimping on my part...
a Washington Pro Sports Team is in the Championship Final. If you notice the other Regional Pro Sports Teams, they aren't anywhere close, and they won't be for a few more years (if not Half a Decade)
