Alright, much like the overseas Aussie scorers thread, let's keep track of who, how many and in what games our own have scored in the Hyundai A-League season 5, 2009-2010!

Not sure if we'll count own goals or not, what do you think? Also, we'll list the ACL participant's goals too, in a separate category.

Sounds like a plan CM. I don't think we worry about OG's either! ;)

    Re: Round 1 Scoreboard.

I'll separate the different rounds for the sake of "********, I can't look at that block of text", then combine it at the end of each round:

    Jin-Hyung Song (Newcastle Jets) - 1
Nigel Boogaard (Central Coast Mariners) - 1

Shane Smeltz (Gold Coast United) - 5
Serjio Van Dijk (Brisbane Roar) - 2
Tahj Minniecon (Gold Coast United) - 1
Danny Tiatto (Brisbane Roar) - 1
    Jin-Hyung Song (Newcastle Jets) - 1
Nigel Boogaard (Central Coast Mariners) - 1

Well let's just say that I had to deal with an issue with my step-daughter and have only just returned to find the Gold Coast laying the hammer down on North Queensland to the tune of 5-0.

[edit] What a STUNNING goal by Danny Tiatto! And ******** me as I'm writing this, Brisbane get a penalty that's converted by Serjio Van Dyjk. [/edit]

Shane Smeltz (Gold Coast United) - 5
Serjio Van Dijk (Brisbane Roar) - 2
Carlos Hernandez (Melbourne Victory) - 2
Tahj Minniecon (Gold Coast United) - 1
Danny Tiatto (Brisbane Roar) - 1
    Henrique (Brisbane Roar) - 1
Danny Allsopp (Melbourne Victory) - 1
    Jin-Hyung Song (Newcastle Jets) - 1
Nigel Boogaard (Central Coast Mariners) - 1

Absolutely glorious strike from Carlos Hernandez to put Melbourne back into it! We've got 2 goals from out of the absolute top drawer here - very reminiscent of the Victory/Sydney match last year.

[edit] You can't ********ing take your eyes away from the screen for 2 seconds! Henrique makes it 3-1 for Brisbane, and it wasn't a shabby goal at all - wonderful build up play and individual skill... [/edit]

[edit2] Allsopp makes it 2-3 for Melbourne, and I missed it. AND AGAIN, as I'm typing this out, Carlos Hernandez rips a free kick that gives Reddy NO CHANCE! 3 all... [/edit2]

Good match happening in Wellington right now! Already 1-1 and we're not even 30 minutes in. Bad news for Perth, though, with two substitutions used already halfway through the first half alone. Mitchell's depth is really going to be tested tonight and in the next month or more.

How long will Smeltz stay here in this form? I can see him going to some cashed up Asian side during January!

Honestly I'm surprised that didn't happen this year. I guess a lot of Asian clubs see Brazil as the go-to place for strikers, when they're ignoring several different (and cheaper), alternatives here.

They'll still have Porter, and Minniecon. That's depth.

    Progressive Tally: Round 3

Beautiful build up play by Fitzsimmons, and none other than Shane finishes it off:

Shane Smeltz (Gold Coast United) - 6
Steve Fitzsimmons (Gold Coast United) - 1

[edit] ********ing hell the Gold Coast are a great team to watch. I'm going to call it right now. One way or another, Premiership or Grand Final, we're watching a team that we're going to see in the ACL next year. [/edit]

[edit2] And a second on the cards for GCU by Fitzsimmons, who I must say deserves one after his performance today. [/edit2]

So Archie fires the Victory home, but not after a resolute North Queensland outfit shows some determination and grit to actually put up a big fight.

Great build up play again to give Van Dijk a goal in the opening 11 minutes.

[edit] Geez Bertos reminds me of Nicky Carle in the way that he's confident in what he does and takes on those defenders on the wing. I love watching him play. [/edit]

    [edit2] I knew I should've picked a draw for this one. [/edit2]

[edit3] Shit, Tommy Oar just got his 2nd yellow and he just got his first a few minutes ago. [/edit3]

Good stuff there from Glory, although it was a bit against the run of play. They're deservedly ahead! 1-0.

[edit] Geez Ben Kennedy reminds me of Ashton Kutscher. And I really can't believe Topor-Stanley is still in Topor-Flight Australian football. Can't this guy be sent back to the State Leagues already? [/edit]

[edit2] Another to Perth from Pellegrino makes it 2-0! /edit2]
