I totally phased out that the game was at 1 o'clock on Saturday, because of the ESPN thing. I am leaving next week for good, for school, and my sister is getting ready to start another job most likely. My mom has been working weekends and all this stuff. So it has been hectic, to say the least around my family. We havn't really had that much time to spend together lately, and for us, that's REALLY hard. We are a very close-knit family. But anyways, my mom has 2 of the grandkids this weekend, for the entire weekend, and she wanted to do something with the, because she hasn't done anythign with them all summer long. (We usually do lots of stuff in the summer.) So stupid me, thinking the game was at 7 pm, like usual games are...made all hese great plans to have a whole day with my family out and about and such. So now, guess who is going to miss Saturday's game....? The first, AND ONLY of the season...... I REALLY REALLY wanna go to the game, of coarse, but family ALWAYS comes first.
And here I thought you would just have the Quakes' game be that event that you would take your family too
My mom doesnt enjoy going to games all too often. And my nephews ad neices will be with us all day. The youngest one will only be 1 at the end of the month, and the oldest is five. The way they have been behavng lately, it would be like commiting suicide to take them to the game. They wouldn't have any fun, and eerythign we are doing in centered around them. (We r going to the Zoo, to Mickies Grove, having a picnic, and so forth....)
You sure you can't take the kids along? Otherwise it's a tough one to break out of. Had to miss some games because of that. Wish I could help you out. Still, sorry to hear. Seriously. I hate it when that happens.
Tony the Tiger says: Gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrreart... that you still get to spend some quality time with your family before you go back to school... ...CIAO! ...The SurfDiva
It is seriously hard to deal with that many young kids at once and try to watch something else at the same time. It's hard enough to deal with my niece (now 3 1/2) in something where she is expected to sit down and watch for 2 hours. They just don't have the patience yet. My family is coming to visit me next month, parents, sis and niece, and we have a plan where my dad and I will be going to a football game (the pointyball kind) while mom, sis and niece will be going to an amusement park (my significant other has to work that weekend). Sorry to hear about your predicament!
Can't you leave them in the car......crack the window for ventilation, of course. Then again, they may chew up your seats and stuff. Your call.
Just put beer in their bottles, tell them it is apple juice, and I bet they sleep through the entire game.
So Lindsey, were you eventually able to find a way to make it to the game after all? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Gman, I hoist a beer in your general direction. QUAKES FOREVER!! GO SSV!! GO WOLFF!! GO GMAN!! GO LINDSEY!! GO ALL QUAKES FANS!! fumls! fuaeg! - Mark
You guys crack me up! Seriously...too funny. This thread is WAY WAY old! And no...I havn't graduated yet...lol, ugh! But I still go to school, just at CSU Stanislaus here in Turlock. I'm a senior, majoring in Liberal Studies (thas teaching) with a soncentration in Sociology. I got a little behind with startin off at SJSU and then with family emergencies of my Papa's death I was gone almost a whole semester and ended up flunking every class that semester...which sucks. Anyways, i graduate Spring of 2007. I turned in all my papers and got approved, so i am on track to be done soon! YAY! And then.....I have to get into the Credential Program to get my teaching Credential, and I will evertually start teaching within the 2008 school year. Not that u all wanted to know this...but o well- haha. And yeah...if u've been hiding under a rock for the last 4 yrs, i am married now, and am going to deliver our first child here in a few weeks.
