that would be the thinking, right? but today it seemed like Harry almost tried to avoid putting him on by moving Keane out to the left flank when Modric had to come off. Cant be a good sign for GDS, can it?

Guess not. Although I trust in Harry cause the man has made good on our players and I hope we all see that a lot of the money we have spent in the past is coming good.

From the BBC. Guy on a different Radio station said he had seen the same thing. Hmm.

Just that he was on trial, Redknapp wants to sign him. Price is something like $4m I think.

Don't know. Although Levy has agreed some inter league/club thing with Internacional. He seems to want to develop South American players more for the prem and other leagues in Europe. Seems a top idea for more exposure and to top players who come out of there.

If you want a solid centre back with strong leadership, why can't Redknapp and Levy chase Ryan Nelson from Blackburn Rovers. He clearly plays into the Spur mould of defence.

I so hope the Modric injury doesn't force us to panic buy... seems like we've only just been able to get rid of the deadwood we'd been carrying for a few seasons.

As far as the names that have been bandied about in the press go, here's my take:
    Petrov is past his sell-by date, imo and will turn into a Rocha/Chimbonda-style leech -- DO NOT BUY;
Kranjcar, I like, but what will he do when Luca gets back? -- DO NOT BUY
Muntari is awesome, but Jenas would have to go the other way, or he'll foul up the dressing room once he realises he's lost his place. -- BUY
James is good, but I'd rather we concentrate on finding a younger keeper. -- DO NOT BUY

    Just my take...

Re: Jenas going the other way...added bonus!

Sorry, I held out hope for the lad as long as I could, but I've given up on him really ever living up to his ability. It's always going to be flashes of top play with months of mediocrity in between.

Muntari pairing Wilson would be amazing (no more talk of Spurs being soft in midfield), though I think Thudd has been fantastic thus far, and I don't know what that move would spell for him.

I hear you. Every season starts the same way, i.e. with me hoping that this will finally be the year that he transforms into our answer to Steven Gerrard, but in the end I'm always disappointed.

There was a brief moment last season when I thought he'd finally raised his game. Then he got injured, and that was that. Basically, he's as good as he'll ever get and that's not good enough for me. I've not seen much improvement over the player who joined us all those years ago with promises of great things to come.

Jenas is Jenas. I wouldn't want him as anything more than a backup. If we can ship him out and upgrade for a CM who plays hard and cares, then we should do it ASAP. Krancjar is a step in the right direction.

From what I understand, he's going to be a loan until January until he can terminate his contract. I don't understand what that means.

    How is he?

It closes for anything going out of England at midnight. So Jenas can't go to Inter tomorrow.

It closes for incomings and inter-English transfers tomorrow at 5.

well all croatian media outlets are reporting that kranjcar to spurs is done..it will be interesting too see if harry can get the best out of kranjcar like he did 2 years ago when he was very good for pomepey..since he injured his ankle last season he has been very inconsistant but i think harry can get the best out of him..he is similar to modric in technique and vision but doesnt have the quick feet or work ethic of modric..the otherthing is kranjcar is freakin so slow but his skill on the ball is very good..

If Kranjčar arrives, and as I understand it's a done deal, you'll have more players from Dinamo's youth acadamy than your own
I personally dislike him and wouldn't recommend him, but then again, he's for me what Sol Campbell is for you guys ;)
