Germany vs Ukraine [R] June 12th

Poland vs Ukraine will be epic!!!

 

Unfortunately, we simply do not have the talent to compete with Germany for the whole 90 minutes.

 

Yeah that only problem is that I can see those two teams on 3 points going into that and playing out a gentleman's draw to ensure both go through. I don't think they'll throw the game, but the intensity won't quite be there if Ukraine beat Northern Ireland next week.

 

Technically, wouldn't the second place finish be advantageous over third? And, if so, wouldn't the teams want to do their best to finish second?

 

Runner up of group C will face a runner-up of group A, while 3rd placed teams always face a group winner.

 

Exactly. It is significantly better to finish second than third.
