Not bad, Peru are pretty weak but a solid win with what should have been a greater margin. Some key points that Flick should take from this moving forward. 1. Always start with a proper #9, ideally Füllkrug. Having a focal point is crucial to getting the best out of all our AM/W’s. 2. The team is much more solid with a proper DM. This was an issue constantly raised pre WC and yet we brought no proper DM’s to the tournament. 3. Wolf showed a lot of what’s needed at RB. No need to use CB’s out of position anymore, they don’t have the attributes. 4. We need to stay concentrated defensively for the whole match. Belgium will be more dangerous and will punish any lapses. We saw this same issue at the WC, literally all the goals we conceded came in the second half of matches.
Nice to see Fullkrug getting more playing time and that second goal was a joy to watch, great assist too from Wolf. By the way, did they even practice taking penalty nowadays? What's wrong with just blast it hard left or right? If the keeper saved it, so be it. Maybe Flick should call up Draxler to show them how to take a penalty like a man. Knoche rarely miss penalty, so call him up too.
It's frustrating that Loew/Flick/DFB are so reluctant, so hesitant, to perform basic actions like playing CFs at CF, DMs at DM, and RBs at RB. The team is talented. I know for a fact the team is talented. But they play with one had tied behind their back constantly.
here is my tactical analyze 1st half 01 very well midfields balance, Emre was able to break their build up play and manage to carry the ball forward from the D line also can shift back as Sweeper I suggest another guy who may able to do the same is Robert Aldrich from Leverkusen worth to cap him similar to Emre but better passing rate 02 Flo confused with his role was overlapped with Werner, don't know where exactly and what role to play but I think he 's best at AMC or 2nd forward somewhere near the box rather than on the flank. Once Musiala is back I guess he will shift to middle as usual. when we have true 6 who can carry the ball, Jo is helping out and open to create the space to received the ball area and when defense help our D not to face 1 on 1 with opponents this is key. 2nd half same as world cup when Lego came, Jo carry the ball forward and averybody foward when we lost transition Peru was able to counter couple times same issue here. Flick knows all the basic issue here I am just a fan commenting what I saw.
Andrich had a brilliant game against Bayern…as we are struggling due to lack of a true DM, it might be good idea to call up Andrich in June and integrate with the team…Can and Andrich can alternately play the defensive midfielder role
self proclaimed Best German CF Sandro Wagner for dfb 5 goals in 8 matches vs Fullkrug for dfb 5 goals in 5 games Conclusion=Best German CF>>>>Fullkrug
here you go for stats 5 - Niclas Füllkrug scored five goals in his first five international matches for Germany – in this millennium only Sandro Wagner had scored as many goals in his first five caps for Germany in 2017. Enrichment. #GERPER pic.twitter.com/VGdczmMDze— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) March 25, 2023 Confirmed we are winning Euro 2024!!! 13 - The German national team is unbeaten for 13 friendly matches (W8 D5) equaling their record – the last time the German team was unbeaten in so many friendly matches in a row was from from 1994 to 1996. Yes - the players were very flexible and played their roles e.g. Ozil was the quickest player in the team, and thus a very decent left winger and it solved the problem of being able to play Kroos in midfield. The same thing is going to have to happen if Musiala and Wirtz both play - one will have to go wide. But it may also be the case that everyone can't be in the team. IMO Havertz will play. So that means some of Sane, Gnabry, Werner and co are going to be on the bench
Kai Havertz (flu) and Nico Schlotterbeck (muscular problems) have withdrawn from the national team's squad and will miss the game against Belgium [dfb] pic.twitter.com/F22IKZSA1R— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) March 26, 2023
Good comment on Wirtz, he basically disappeared during that match. (especially in the second half when he got pulled out for Goretzka). Would like to see him partner up front with Fullkrug against Belgium.
My point was it's a continuous issue. I for one believe the center back pairing Need to build a chemistry going forward up to the finals next year. It's a long standing issue we haven't rectified, and for me currently it's Rudiger with another.
I agree, after the next international break in June we literally only have one year to prepare for the tournament, that’s something like 6-8 friendlies max. Not actually that much time to build chemistry in our defence. We cannot hope to have a deep run without being confident we can avoid being too open/disorganised and conceding soft goals.
why do Kimmich and Goretska work at Bayern, but not when they plating for the NT? I mean setup is quite similar, only reason I can think of is that the Bayern defenders fulfill some kind of role that the NT defenders dont... CAN for sure looked quite solid in the DM role..
So as far As I can see next friendlies are, or rumors' are June Ukraine , Poland - one more game in Frankfurt September France and one other October USA tour (possible USA and Canada/orMexico) November - Austria and one other
Flick should be playing the following set of defenders over and over to get the synergy going - although with the Belgium game see we still have 10 friendlies this year alone... Rudiger/Sule/Raum/Schlotiies/Wolf/Ginter/Bella/
I think it could work if you played a similar tactical system. But also Bayern spent huge money on CBs that Germany does not really have
I don't see Bayern's CB's being that much better tbh. De Ligt possibly, but the rest are pretty error prone. Rudiger & Sule are CL winners, and in Schlotterbeck, Thiaw and Bella-Kotchap we have 3 young CB's performing at a high level in top leagues. If given the choice I would pick Schlotterbeck ahead of Upamecano for sure.
