He all, I'm from York, North England and of course, just like about everyone else on the planet i've heard y'all gonna get gazza. I wish him luck and I wish the club luck. In all my life I have hardly seen such a gifted player, he is the greatest english footballer ever to have lived. I hope you will all be touched by his gift in the way I have. Look after him for us! Best of luck again! luke
What are you serious i know he is good but you ar forggeting those 11 blokes who won the world cup in 1966. They were all better than gascoigne. Dont get me wrong he is one of the best midfielders ever but until he wins a world championship or two he carnt really be called the best midfielder ever.
the 11 of 66 Sure, the team of 66 were an amazing team, but thats how they were, they won it as a team. Players like moore, the charltons, hurst, banks and t'others were outstanding in the way they clicked together, and don't get me wrong, i don't beleive gazza could win a world cup single handedly, but if we hadn't lost on penalties in 90, then perhaps that england team would have been dubbed the greatest ever, and there is no doubt who the greatest player was in that team. Gazza has the ability to make something from nothin. I see not everyone will agree with me, but I feel he is the greastest english player ever. luke
I like Gazza, but why do you think now he can't find a team in England? Too old? No pace? Lack of skills? Attitude problem? What's the deal?
Cruyff won multiple European Champions Cups with Ajax. Not a WC, but in terms of major championships, they don't come too much bigger than that.
lineker Lineker was amazing, true, but he put the ball in the back of the net, he was a strikers striker, putin goals in with his ass if needs be, but gazza was usually the player that got lineker in the position to score. luke
From the various interview I've read, I wonder if he's even looking for a team in England. My take is that he's looking to make a clean break with his past, and part of that is being in a place that is not of his past. He likes going to shopping malls and having no one recognize him. He likes not having everyone immediately assume what he is based upon their knowledge of his past behavior. Makes sense to me. Hope it works for him.
Re: Re: the 11 of 66 I loved Lineker in '90 but Gazza was easily the best player on that team and 95% of England will tell you that.
Who gives a damn why he came here. On one leg, half drunk, and with Five Bellies at this side, he will be better than many of the midfielders we have put out there this year. Lazo, Richie, McKinley, Chino, ... Hopefully things work out and Gazza is in the midfield for United on August 10.
