The MetroStars sent Gaven to see the specialist after the player complained of discomfort during postseason action against D.C. United. Certainly explains his below-average play in the playoffs. http://metrostars.mlsnet.com/MLS/ne...ent_id=19375&vkey=news_met&fext=.jsp&team=met
6-8 weeks. Seems like it took Rico Clarke 6-8 months to come back from. Mathis didn't look too good when he came back from his either. This will take him out of any potential USMNT duty until probably June.
If I remember correctly Mathis and Clarke had their surgeries well after the beginning of the year. Even if you are correct, six months would be the beginning of the season. I think you are way overboard on this.
At any rate, a lot of the team have undergone various surgeries lately. Maybe we need a health meter alongside the rumor mill.
Just out of curiosity... how do these young athletes end up with hernia? Don't you get hernias when you use to much strength or straing for too long?. Like for example to lift something heavey(i.e. weights, couch)
Or a well-endowed working girl in compromising positions? Nah.... couldn't be. Nothing like that; not possible.
Hell, im suprised all of us don't need hernia surgery after all the yankin' that Nick has done to us.
I expected some kind of joke about Eddie getting the Hernia for carrying the hope of Metro future.... FYI Brownswan, A well known US Olympic runner suffered a foot injury in somewhat similar circumstances (to the one you suggested). He did recover and went on to medal.
