Garber already said the coaching staff is going.

Even if Kinnear eventually becomes coach of a Bay Area expansion franchise, why should he be unemployed in the mean time?

Yeah, I could use it. My office neighbor just poked his head in my office and asked why I kept yelling 'bull**********'. Didn't even realize I was doing it...

Glad to hear that Garber is deputizing Abbot to get a stadium in KC. Also glad to hear that similar efforts were made in Chicago. I don't remember those efforts in SJ. Does anyone else?

Any of them could quit. There's no good reason for them to do so, though. A pro athlete's career lasts only so long.

The one thing nobody at the press conference is admitting is our personal and emotioanl investment into our players and coaches! How do you put a price on that? Muthertruckers!

I think the Letter of Intent thing is just a shallow attempt to mitigate the negative PR impact of the relocation. It also provides some face-saving for both MLS and the city of San Jose.

It'll be interesting to find out what the real story is, if we ever really do find out. We may never know the details of the proposed deal between SVS&E and the city, how much funding SVS&E was offering to commit to, etc. How much of an effect did AEG's interest in being in on another venue have? How much of an effect the RoGo garbage scandal have? It certainly put a lot of scrutiny around the council's use of funds, the level of disclosure occuring, etc. It may have just caused all of the councilmembers to basically draw their tentacles back and bunker down. There's not going to be any rushed vote for a sizable project like this under those circumstances.

Why do I feel that the A's name is being thrown around to just make things sound nice and that it is really rather meaningless.

We shall see what this City Council LOI is all about in January I guess.

Yeah I remember after he pulled the plug on both Florida franchises in 2001 he sounded like the MLS was going to really take off in his press conference. He is a total "yes man" lawyer dude who thinks he says the right things at the wrong time to make everyone think he knows what he is talking about! This Garber don't know crap about the game of soccer nor does he know anything about the fans in SJ! Its pretty sad however, that all this has to happen now! Its almost like throwing 10 years down the drain! I agree with you , I doubt we will see soccer played in San Jose any time soon.

My guess is that when the expansion team comes we'll get a couple big-name guys back (Ching, Mullan, maybe Robinson, maybe Clark or Danny-O) but the core of OUR team will be in Houston.

I lost my Syracuse USL a season ago, essentially because the morons in the local government couldn't work out the stadium situation.

The best thing you Quakes fans can do is to keep supporting soccer and fight for the return of the league to your town. With all the emotion you're letting out here, it's clear that you love the sport. Don't give up on MLS. Work hard for an expansion team.

The league already knows you're great fans.

I blame two groups of people for this mess: AEG and the local governments of NoCal who didn't get their heads out of their *sses until it was too late.

What's Garber going to do? The group that owns the team wants to move it. Do you think Garber tells AEG what to do or AEG TELLS Garber what they're going to do. If AEG pulls out goodbye league and Garber and MLS know it.

That would be cool if we got some of them back..Some of them could ask for trades to the Quakes, couldn't they?

Alot of hot air coming out of Garber's mouth. You could think this has been a good news day for San Jose given the tone of his replies.

I am fast coming to the conclusion that MLS is all smoke and mirrors, underneath it is rotten.
