U.S. teenager at Atletico talks about his experience playing in Madrid: https://t.co/0rvGUvzaX8 pic.twitter.com/yoac6C4kHe— TopDrawerSoccer (@TopDrawerSoccer) March 22, 2018 https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/pro-prospects:-us-teenager-at-atletico_aid43922 An '02 in Atletico Madrid's academy since 2013. Plays both wings and right back. He's a regular for Atlético's Cadete side in the Preferente Madrid Cadete Group 3 (https://www.resultados-futbol.com/preferente_madrid_cadete/grupo3), which appears to be a different team than the Atlético Cadete A for '02s. Also, Atletico's site lists an '04 born in the United States (San Francisco) in their girls' academy, Mariner Headrick, who is obviously Gannen's sister.
Yeah, it may be essentially a reserve team for the 02s who didn't make it into the Cadete A squad, but I'm not 100% sure.
I don't know if he's still there, but there's an '04 named Mariner Headrick in their girls' academy. https://www.atleticodemadrid.com/equipos/atletico-de-madrid-femenino-infantil-a-2017-2018
There is or was also an '07 named Headrick in Atletico's girls' setup. Gannen seems to have moved to Getafe. https://www.getafecf.com/CategoriasInferiores/juvenilb/Plantilla.aspx https://www.getafecf.com/Noticia/ta...nen-La-mentalidad-defensiva-es-muy-buena.aspx
Looks like he's stateside: https://gocolumbialions.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/gannen-headrick/14428
No, they don't offer those either. https://ivyleague.com/sports/2017/7/28/information-psa-index.aspx#:~:text=Ivy League schools provide financial, scholarships in the Ivy League. EDIT: To be clear, most of them offer more than typical amounts of need-based financial aid, so for many poorer athletes it may not matter one way or another.
