The Sounders are not looking like a championship team - just another middling team from Seattle. Where was this offensive pressure before Dawkins scored? You know, when it might have made a difference? I hate seeing us try to parke the bus. It seldom works. Also, way to go Evans.
Yeah. I'm just annoyed that we have yet to beat a good team in league play this year. (Quakes, KC, RSL - I do not count the Gals.) ...and that we waited so long to sub. But mostly, that we are stuck in bunker, boot and pray mode.
Yet again... Did you not see our starting lineup? I'm not going to comment on the overhead shot, but if that header off the post had been EJ instead of Ochoa, we would have been up by one there. And, of course, it had to be Lenhart.
Of course Seattle can't finish a game for a draw. On top of that SJ had MANY MANY opportunities. Seattle only finished 1 of their opportunities.
The same players were on the pitch before and after Dawkins' goal. We didn't start playing with any offensive urgency until afterwards, though. We deserved the L. SJ is the better side.
And yet, without that urgency we were a WTF miss on a clear header from inside the six from leading that game... Seriously, enough with the Negative Nancy routine. We were damn near controlled the game with the entirety of our offensive punch on the bench. Yeah, the loss sucks, but come on. You should be seeing the positives here. If you drop Montero, Rosales, and EJ into that lineup instead of Rose, Caskey/Evans, and Ochoa and we would have lit them up.
I think Sigi waited about 10 minutes too late to begin his subs. The urgency and tempo immediately went up when they came in. Coulda, shoulda, woulda.
I've seen this a lot of times against KC. We're bad at defending set pieces especially throw-ins. We're lucky KC weren't able to get a good shot, but of course, this wont work against SJE. Sigi better improve our set piece defense.
It happens but still I don't want sigi to play Rosales too much with litttle rest and suddenly have an injury.
