I too had been wondering about Compostela and Celta (I had seen them on ESPN2 against Arsenal a few years back) and that is why I came to this thread (and now I am hooked! ).

I couldn't figure out about Compostela for a long time, so when Bill-DC asked about it, I searched for information.

There are some nasty web sites around, especially by hardcore Compostela
fans who feel robbed!

I spent four days in Santiago in October '97 and saw a lot of posters of the team in the bars and restaurants. I got to see Compostela play Real Madrid in October '95 and they were pretty scrappy. Real won 2-1 but I was impressed with the team then.

 

Yes their jerseys were very nice.

I can certainly include Compostela results in this thread on a regular basis.

I have been to Santiago also.

My most memorable moment in Santiago was when we arrived during siesta after a very long bus ride and were practically starving.

We tried a few restaurants but they were closed, but the owner of one of them opened the restaurant just for us.

He gave us a whole pot of Caldo Gallego, and very generous portions of steak and fish dishes. I'll never forget the place.

While walking off the lunch, I stopped at a store and purchased a Boina for myself and a great scallop-shells necklace with a cross for my Mom.

It is a great place to visit.

I am not sure why you have the mad smiley, imho I think a Galician derby in 1st division would be great.
