    From the Galaxy website:

LOS ANGELES GALAXY TO HOST MEXICAN CLUB NECAXA FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3 IN CARSON: The Los Angeles Galaxy, coming off their berth in Major League Soccer's Western Conference Championship, will host Mexican Primera Division side CID Necaxa on Friday, December 3 at 7:30 pm (PT) at The Home Depot Center. The game will be the third international friendly on U.S. soil for the Galaxy in 2004, after playing to a 1-1 tie against Tecos de UAG (Mexico) on April 20 in Nashville, Tennessee and dropping a 1-0 decision to Sao Paulo FC (Brazil) in Carson on June 2. Los Angeles also played in three matches during a preseason tour of Southern France this year. Overall, the Galaxy have amassed a record of 22-11-15 (.615 winning percentage) in international matches in the nine years since the club's inception in 1996.

The international encounter will be Bonus Game #4 for Galaxy 20-game full season ticket plan holders - to whom the club will be sending their tickets. All other Galaxy fans interested in purchasing tickets to the match between two of North America's premier clubs, which range from $12 to $45 (in advance), may do so by calling the Galaxy ticket office toll-free at 1-877-3GALAXY. As with any other Galaxy match at The Home Depot Center, special group discounts are also available.

Hopefully we don't get our butts kicked like we did when played them last time.

Even if it's a friendly and they'll probably play the B/C team, it's some live soccer fix.

I would have much rather seen Galaxy vs. Cremas. I guess that one fell through.

I heard rumors they're playing a Mexican team? I would have preferred that one too. I'm sure the Goats will be there selling season tixs. Wonder if we'll get all the "free" beer like we did in Fullerton. Raining beer is always interesting.

Sorry. Am I supposed to get excited about this BIG international game that has been added to the schedule? A team we've seen (I think twice at least) before. This is Dougie's idea of an attractive matchup?

And LAG is down two SI players: Bo & Herzog, and down 1 semi-regular: Torres. And the roster is going to (hopefully) get a major makeover anyway, so were watching a bunch of guys who aren't going to be here next year and who have even less motivation to put in a real effort than normal.

And then there's the Sampson factor. He's already proved he can't win with this group of players. Even if you are willing to give him a shot at putting "his" team together, this aint it.

I think I will take a pass on this one.

Cadaver, think of this game as preparation for yelling and cursing at players/fans in Spanish.

Actually, my guess at a B-Team lineup:

    ----------------Popik----------------
    Aloisi----Thompson--Califf-----Broome
    -------------Vagenas----------------
    Memo-------Grabavoy--------Gardner
    -------Ngwenya--Gordon------------

Might beat this past season's A-Team.

(Note: I don't think Califf, Broome and Vagenas are B team (well, yes for Vagenas), but Califf and Vagenas were injured for a good chunk of this past season and could use the game time, and Broome is really the only left back we have unless Marshall gets moved back there.)

This may be the first time these words were used on this board, but the New Yorker makes a good point. I haven't seen the Gs live in a month and don't know for sure when the next chance will arise. I'm going to haul my lazy ass down the 110 after work to see the Gs.

    We're too spoiled.

Besides, there's a difference between seeing our team play and our team's scrubs play.

I meant 15 Galaxy fans at the game, not 15,000. Attendance will be like 10,000 mostly rude ass necaxa fans.

I don't get you guys. I'd go there just to sit in the stadium, have some beers and read a book for 2 hours. If there's some kind of football game going on , so much the better.

Necaxa doesn't even have 10,000 fans in Mexico, let alone SoCal. They are not what you'd call a draw...
