http://sports.yahoo.com/mls/news?slug=txgalaxymoves&prov=st&type=lgns Saunders, Y. Marshall, Patterson, and AJ de la Garza.
Hey ragbone, you meant Patterson. For a guy who was once an offensive player of the year, he sure sucked AS$ on that PK in the PPC.
Nope. There is space for one more. Remember - Becks doesn't count on the roster until he comes back in July.
So right now we have...... 1. Ricketts 2. Dunivant 3. Griffin 4. Gonzalez (?) 5. Marshall 6. Lewis 7. Klein 8. Kovalenko 9. Kirovski 10. Donovan 11. Sesay 12. Buddle 13. Miglioranzi 14. Bowen 15. Magee 16. Tudela 17. De La Garza 18. Gordon 19. Saunders 20. Valentin 21. Jordan 22. Franklin 23. Patterson 24. ??? Out on Loan - Beckham
24. Celestine Babayaro ... seriously... 24. Claudio Reyna ... no seriously... I mean it this time seriously... 24. Osman Chavez!
Why not have a full roster? Then we can cut whoever is underperforming in the July transfer window when Beckham comes back.
That's what I think will and should happen. For the last few seasons there's always someone brought in who doesn't perform as expected and they are usually found out by June. That player can then be waived to open up the space for Beckham's return. With injury risk, a lot of older players and our bad luck in general, it would be silly not to carry a full roster.
Yup. I also like that Arena has brought in those additional 3 trialists. Why not take a look at some of these players and see if any of them can beat someone on the current roster? We definitely don't have a roster that's untouchable.
LA is so far away from "untouchable". I am afraid Arena is going to egg on his face if he doesn't improve this squad ASAP. A proven International quality centerback would be nice. One thing that the new management has done right is that they have not made risky trades and acquisitions that throw away money or young talent. Arena has been shrewd and that's how you build a team in MLS. -But he has more patience than I do.
Just because you comment on something you like that they've done, doesn't mean you aren't still upset with all the other bone-headed moves that they've made....
I am rooting for those two Terps in the back. http://www.umterps.com/sports/m-soccer/recaps/121408aae.html Tim? He is more fickle than a schizophrenic with ADHD. After the Beckham saga is safely over Tim needs to go away. I appreciate having a high roller in the sport, but he just doesn't seem to care about soccer.
according to goff the 'a' in aj dela garza stands for adolph. i'd always wondered if the name had survived wwii. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/2009/03/mystery_solved.html
I had a good friend growing up in grammar school. His name was Adolf as well. His dad was adolf too (just like the AJ story) and recently I fould out (thanks to facebook) this friend got married recently, had a kid and the kid is lil Adolf. HAHA. Im sure the name is big down in parts of South America too.
