As a surfer and someone who has spent time in Brazil, it was extremely exciting for me to see Gabriel Medina, the first Brazilian ever to lift the ASP world surfing trophy. Historically, it was only the Australians and Americans who were winning the trophy, he broke the chain. What also makes it interesting is that he won it at just 20 years old, the only other person to have done that is Kelly Slater (the best surfer of all time). It makes me proud to see the support he is getting from superstars in football such as Neymar, who posted pictures of him on instagram, and also the Brazilian announcer who was color commentating the Barcelona X Cordoba game who said "Later we will talk about World Champion Gabriel Medina". He could be the new Ayrton Senna, Romario, or Ronaldo. The kid is special: Parabens Gabriel!
