TFC is through to the knock out round of the MLS return to play tournament. The winner earns one of the US slots in the CCL even if that winner is a Canadian team. Some fun questions/thoughts if we allow ourselves to indulge and imagine some improbable scenarios: Could TFC and the Impact be drawn into the same group? It seems they could. How about TFC performing well and earning points for the American CCL slot? Or bombing out and dropping that slot's ranking? How about TFC and the Impact facing each other in the final? How about TFC winning the CCL? Then the first non-Mexican winner would be a Canadian team using a US slot. That seems very MLS.
