Cleansheet win Fulham has now conceded just once in the 270 minutes with Ream on the field. After being named Bolton's Player of the Year twice and Fulham's Player of the Year once in a year they were promoted and now with a strong start to this season, Tim Ream is Mr. Championship. He is terrific at this level
When they went up last year I suggested he sell himself to highest bidder in Chamiponship as a "promotion" specialist and make some money instead of trying to stop the $100m strikers in the Prem with a weak complement of players on his side. I guess the challenge of playing in the Prem is something most players find hard to turn down.
To be fair, Fulham did well after being relegated last season. Ream was a big part of that. A lot went wrong for Fulham last year. Almost none of there signings played well and they kept rotating all season until Parker gave them consistency. Shame because I doubt Ream gets another shot at the PL.
Fixed your post. Something I never do, actually. Suggested new title: "The Sisyphus of the Championship: Tim Ream @ Fulham."
Not too shabby IMO. Championship has some decent wages though I'd wish we would have seen him spend more time in a first division somewhere. any thoughts on whether he might have done well at some small club in Ligue 1 or Serie A?
There a lot of nice Sysyphus cartoons to choose from: ... and especially for the married folks here ...
I mean, Fulham is definitely odds on favorite to be promoted. They literally had the highest ever possession in a championship game against Milwall the other day. Their front three might be the best the championship has ever seen. That being said, if he stays on a promoted Fulham he won't be a starter no way. They won't make the same mistakes they did last year. So ultimately I agree. Being a promotion chaser specialist is not a bad gig for him.
In no way is it intended. The Championship is a tough/rough league. It's not an easy place, at all. To be so good at this level, like Ream has, is very impressive.
Club picks up his option year: Ream’s current deal gave the Club an option to extend it by a further year. We have now taken this option, tying Ream to Fulham until the summer of 2021. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2019/august/23/contract-updates
* Dr. Timothy Ream, Promotion Specialist * "I'll Get You There, the Rest is Up to You!" They're a tough league to watch, that's for sure.
They're counting on Sisyphus carrying them up to the Premiership again, and at that point he won't have much use.
