Hate that we have to rely on others to FU. Minimum, we want the Arse to at least pull one draw and shity to lose one. WHILE WE “ONLY” have to win 6 straight games.
Baby steps, Thursday was an away win and a clean sheet, today we unlocked Ryan, Trent and Jota scored and another away win with better second half display. We shall see what Wednesday holds, maybe Darwin or Salah might rediscover their form.......Just keep building on this.
Anybody else notice how Diaz was able to pin Robinson back and rarely allowed him room to forage forward? The only time he broke forward, Fulham scored. That’s the main difference between this match and the kind at Anfield when he was romping forward at will. Gakpo, a few poor passing decisions apart, was outstanding as were Alexander Arnold (see the point about Diaz forcing the Fulham left back deeper), Gravenberch, Mac Alister and Endo weren’t shabby too. Score line ought to have been higher but that’s the story of the season especially after the beginning of the new year. Suddenly we looked like the team who were only a few weeks ago challenging for the title. And still may but it’s not in our hands any more.
Clearly on. Good response in 2nd half. The goal allowed was a total joke, other than that seemed fairly comfortable. I wasn't paying rapt attention. Still have a number of issues in terms of giveaways and some bad CM positioning. But 3-goal win is a 3-goal win. Beat Everton mid-week. Keep it going.
I mean there’s also the “City draws once and Liverpool outscore them the rest of the season AND make up 8 GD on Arsenal”
Well a win is a win, will watch the tape later but certainly this is an improvement on our recent form.
Elliott, Gravenberch, Gakpo, & Jota should all start the final 5 games. They in addition to TAA were the difference today. I like how Klopp changed it up which is what he should've done vs Palace but I digress. Diaz needs to sit and I somewhat favor Darwin but both are death by a 1000 cuts. 3 pts in the bag and we march on to Everton on Wed.
I'm on vacation right now so not posting much (at all). watched the game around 11pm last night. great management decision by Jurgen. thank god for Trent and Diogo. Endo fantastic as was Cody the Ruthless (more of that please!). Harvey's energy and commitment was superb as it always is. the Bitters will do anything - anything - to stop us winning on Weds.
Jota was pretty poor I thought and that's excluding his sitter in the first half, never seem to want to pass the ball and ended up losing it plenty of times. Well taken goal in the end but it's more of a keeper error. Agree with the rest.
Yep. His best game for us in the last few, love the way he chases after and wins those loose balls. Really helps us to start over building attacks and keeping them on the back foot.
Still scored, props to him. Give him the nod again midweek and see if he can do the same whilst playing a bit better.
Oh - me, me, me!!! I want to play this game, too! "Scarlett Johanssen might be calling me today for a date."
While I didn't think he played amazing and he's clearly still getting back into match shape, I wouldn't call his 1st half miss a "sitter."
That's why I'm in favour of taking the view - if VAR can't see it as likely off with the eye on a freeze frame - then always count the player onside. It would get rid of that god-awful 50-50 waiting for a decision most of the time. Except in the cases where everyone can see that someone looks slightly off - and then we'd get a measurement just to confirm. If this was instituted with the proper seseible direction to refs, it would take away 99% of the bad feeling over these millimetre calls
Yes - but the finer point is that we don't necessarily know what angle our vantage is adding to the view. For my money's worth, as a fan here, and not as some representative stickler for technical measurement exactitude, I think that's it's counter-intuitive to (most people's) enjoyment to be measuring this stuff beyond a quick VAR observer's view of a still photo.
Neither of our two competitors are at their best either. Don't be overly surprised if Chelsea get something tomorrow night.
