Ambriz seems ideal from their pov. I bet he has a lot of goodwill within the FMF. I won't be surprised.
It's a bit of a dark age for Mex in terms of player development. The game is continuing to trend towards atheltism. This is exacerbating the deficiencies Mexico has always had in this department. Part of it is the age of the squad, but there is a lack of stamina to play at today's level of intensity. Aside from Chucky and Antuna we have no pace. We no longer have a prime Gio or Chicharito. Just a bunch of slow geezers with average technical ability. Tldr: A new coach won't do much, Mex is falling behind in development to the rest of the world and liga mx is at fault.
Man, what a wasted cycle on pura pinches pendejadas y mamadas del tecnico y la federacion. Freakin' Chichadio, Lainez, and Santi should have been on this team and any other players that were overlooked throughout this whole proceso. We should have beaten Poland and tied Argentina.
And its sad because we have enough money power to have good youth sistems sadly we have greedy owners
He has broken shariah law. Leave him in the gulag. I wish a sandworm (from any film) would devour him. Moshi moshi.
I was really turned off by his commentary for ESPN in 2014. I guess a tad better than Poch in the sense that he did win an FA Cup. I still think he’s overrated.
I know he is another Argie but I did like the job he did with Peru in 2018 and almost again this cycle. Ricardo Gareca is my vote. Martinez will go to another underperforming big name country depending how this WC shakes out. Poch is gonna wait for another English league job.
Are there really options that Mexico has to choose from for the next head coach? Other than Piojo who is extremely overrated and loves the media attention, I don't see many coaches outside of Mexico or who have coached in Mexico before like Almeyda wanting to coach Mexico. It's an old and aging NT. Next cycle isn't looking good. Only good thing going our way is that I don't believe we need to qualify for the World Cup as we are a host nation.
I don’t think we don’t have youth talent, our youth teams are decent to good, including the Olympic team last cycle. The issue is the liga mx having no incentive in playing and developing them. Mexico has always had and will continue to produce talented players, it’s up to the system to support them
