Someone's been falling asleep at the wheel.

    Dynamo Kyiv - K.A.A. Gent
Unirea Urziceni - Zenit St. Petersburg

Dynamo are leading Gent 1-0 at the half. Zenit and Unirea are tied at 0-0 20 minutes in.

    Unirea 0 - 0 Zenit HT.

Unirea's a very typical Balkan team, very rude and cunning, already got a player sent off. I hope Zenit's players make it out of there safe.

Now THAT is more like it. Sheva and Zozulya score late goals to make it 3-0!

Nice assist by Garmash on the Sheva goal (4 goals in 4 matches btw). Pretty much the perfect result, no away goals conceded and a nice goal margin.

Sheva is brilliant. Keeping himself in good shape too. Does qualifying goals count for his overall tally of UCL goals?

Zenit 0 - 0 Unirea. Good news is that Zenit got out of that jungle in one piece.

There's two lists now, one that includes qualifying and one that doesn't.

    He's 4th with 48 excluding qualifying. (Raul 66, van Nistelroy 54, Henry 50).

3rd with 57 including qualifying. (Raul 66, van Nistelroy 60).

The thing that was most shocking to me, but also not because the guy is a poacher:

Top scorers in UEFA club competitions
    Inzaghi 68
    Raul 66
    Shevchenko 63

Man Raul pulled away...like 4 years ago Sheva was in 1st place wasn't he? Maybe that was overall European goals....fuk Raul, playing with Zidane, Figo, Seedorf and the all-stars all his life.

Sheva's still the best player on that team. A goal and an assist today. Had about 8 shots all of his own.

Yea he is. Only his shooting ability and a little pace has been affected but still pretty bad ass. Hope he gets into the UCL, his playground

He does need to take better care of some of those good chances he got.

He's not a clinical finisher anymore :( remember missing a 1-on-1 at Milan late to win it 3-2? He used to be more ruthless with chances, but is still one of the most complete strikers in the world

If only he never went to Chelsea he could of had a lot more goals to his name.

I can see him passing van Nistelroy soon

Yea, he would've had at least 14 more UCL goals in 4 seasons if he didn't leave Milan. Would have been #1 of all time in European goals and maybe even Milan (#2 now isn't he?), shitty end to his career as a popularity abroad standpoint. Unless he proves himself at Euro'12

I think it's a tad too late for that. At 35(soon to be 36) I don't see him doing much damage(or even starting every game).

But don't get me wrong, Shevchenko is one of my favorite players of all time.

I think he could still get there. What does he need, 12 goals? Over 2-3 years that might be possible IF he gets back his centre forward position.

Sheva is only 33 right now. And he may be surrounded by a new wave of Ukrainian forwards, which would mean that he will not have to start every match anymore. Dynamo alone employs 5 Ukrainian attackers (although Zozulya is nominally a winger)
