A fitting final album for one of the most underratted, understated voices in music. Its not drastically different from anything he put out before, but a simple, dreamy, languid continuation of his previous work. Songs like Fond Farewell are particularly beautiful in light of the circumstance that we have all come to hear it. The chorus reads, "This is not my life, its just a fond farewell to a friend. Its not what I'm like, its just a fond farewell to a friend who couldn't get things right..."
I'm probably going to pick this one up. Figure 8 is really one of my favorite records from the last 10 years.
Pimping. Bought the new one off iTunes, but have only had time to listen to a few songs so far. I like what I've heard as much as anything else by him.
