I've been a huge fan of Adan and hope he sticks around, but so happy for Max and I hope he has all the success.
Former Sporting youth player Andre Franco has begun the season in great form for Estoril, and is one of the main reasons why they're sitting in 4th place after 10 match days in the league
Remember former scp legend Fernando? Came on loan from Shakthar on the last day with Bolasie and Jese? Scored today against Real Madrid
His stats are actually solid this season fwiw, in a small sample size. 4 goals in 4 Ukrainian league matches, plus a goal in their domestic cup. And now against the mighty Real Madrid The goal: https://streamwo.com/Q2rBjgm
What ever happened to early 2000s players like Zezinho? Andre Santos? Stijn Schaars? Rinaudo? Looks like Jaime Valdes had a long spell at Colo Colo after leaving Sporting and still plays which is cool.
Most of them ended up having journeyman type careers moving around different leagues and clubs. After Zezinho officially left Sporting, he's played in Greece, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, Malta, and now is with a club in Cyprus. Although it doesn't look like he actually plays. Not gonna lie, this guy was fun to use in FIFA back in the day lol. Andre Santos has played in Spain, Turkey, France, Romania, and is now with Grasshoppers Zurich in the Swiss league. Schaars went back to the Netherlands after playing for PSV and Heerenveen and is now a youth coach for PSV. Rinaudo played for a bit in Italy before going back home to Argentina.
That was a player who left it all on the pitch. Didn’t always play with his brain, but his effort could never be questioned. Those were some fun teams, in their own unique way. The club just didn’t know how to build a squad for so long. Glad we have figured it out recently.
Speaking of Andre Santos, here's his post on IG earlier this year with some old pics looking back thru his time with Sporting: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQyzjL7rRd6/?utm_medium=copy_link

Yes, he was born in Amadora and of Bissau-Guinean descent. Has represented Portugal youth NTs between U17 to 21 before.
Fluminense are interested in signing former Manchester United winger Nani. Talks ongoing with the Portuguese player - agreement not reached yet. 🇧🇷🇵🇹 #FluminenseNani’s available as free agent now as he’s not extended his contract with Orlando City. He’ll decide his future soon. pic.twitter.com/cuGiDhdFdl— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) December 14, 2021
Brazilian winger Raphinha, who moved from Sporting to Leeds, is being linked with a potential transfer to Bayern Munich https://www.record.pt/mercado/detal...irmacoes-ao-minuto?ref=HP_DestaquesPrincipais
Whoops, looks like I missed a step. Raphinha actually moved from Sporting to Rennes first, before going to Leeds. I'm not sure if there's any additional sell on clauses at this point though
Former Sporting youth striker Alexandre Guedes terminates his contract with Polish club RKS Rakow and will be a free agent in January
