Hi. Is there anybody who can help me in finding out everything about the NASL and post-NASL career of the following NY Cosmos' players?
Any info would be appreciated. I'm trying to recover the Cosmos history from the foundation to the death.
Thanks in advance for whatever info. Franco (Rome, Italy)

PS: Yes, I'm a stuck with the NASL :p

There Andy, your post is fixed as well!

This is an NASL thread Mead... If you had half a brain, you would understand the importance of what Ricky Davis meant to American soccer in the '80's. If you don't care for his broadcasting (Which is 100% better than your photography skills by the way!) take it elsewhere!

Boy Howdy. I fully appreciate what Ricky Davis means. That doesn't make him a good broadcaster. I also never claimed to be Peter Read Miller behind the camera. I'm fully aware of my limitations - though considering my recent 2 page spread in Sports Illustrated, I think I'm improving. Of course, none of that means that I'm qualified to be an MLS commentator, either.

I'm happy that you're sticking up for Ricky. I'll be sure and mention you to him next time I'm covering a game in LA.

I don't know what happen to Bob Smith, but he was from New Jersey, he came from the Philadelphia Atoms the won a NASL championship,
Bob Rigby was the goalie, Bob Smith and one of the Bahr brothers.

Richard Chinapoo became an All- Star defender in the the indoor league with many teams, his last being with the Harrisburg Heat. He then went on to become the coach of the Heat, winning the COY with the Heat. He now is the technical director and coach with a youth soccer association in Harrisburg.Following in his footsteps, this year his son was voted to the Adidas all region team as a high school senior defender in Pa.

Not debating this... However, why add negativity to an otherwise positive thread?

I remember reading not too long ago that Angelo DiBernardo was living outside of Chicago and was a high school soccer coach. I think that David Bricic lives in St. Louis and owns a soccer shop.

It's context. Anytime you see "Fixed Your Post" outside of say the Politics forum, it's usually done for comedic effect. Try not to take stuff so personally.

I would lay even money on George Siega and Nelsi Morais still playing in O-30/40 for German-Hungarian Metros in NYC's Cosmopolitan Soccer League.
Also, bet you Peppe Pinton NEVER sells his copyright ownership to Cosmos name.

Johann Cruyff played two exhibition games with the Cosmos.
The first one against World Best XI in NY, the second one in London, against Chelsea FC. Both on 1978.

In the pic, Cruyff and Beckenbauer in London before the friendly game against Chelsea.

On another thread there was link to the US trade mark site. There were two live trade marks for the NY Comos, both were for clothing. Below is a link.

    http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=tess&state=gjpm6i.1.1

It didn't look like either was him. The trademark dealing with a professional soccer team died in '93.

Wrong link. This is the right result of the research (unfortunately for MLS and for the Cosmos fans):

Yes, and across the street in Tappan, NY is a quaint upscale Italian restaurant owned by the one and same, Sr. Pinton. Peppe Pinton is also the head coach at Ramapo College; where every summer the "Cosmos" hold their soccer camps.

Angelo Di Bernardo is head coach of Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois (far western suburbs of Chicago).

Used to play for now defunct Pampas of Chicago's National Soccer League.
