The new Forbes list of Billionaires is out:
    http://www.forbes.com/lists/2007/10/07billionaires_The-Worlds-Billionaires_Rank.html

Roman Abromovich is #16 at US$18.7bn, I guess he can keep throwing money at Chelsea.

    Other names of note:
    #19 Paul Allen - $18.0bn (Seahawks/Trailblazers)
    #51 Silvio Berlusconi - $11.8bn
    #69 Phil Knight - $9.5bn (Nike)
#71 John Kluge - $9.1bn (MetroMedia - original MetroStars owner)
#80 George Soros - $8.5bn (involved with DC United at some point, if I recall)
    #93 Philip Anschutz - $7.9bn
#97 Edward Johnson - $7.5bn (KC is really paying this guy too much) :)
#177 James Goodnight - $4.5bn (SAS Institute, Cary NC - offered to by Courage in 2003)
#249 Ray Hunt - $3.5bn (only Hunt family member on list - NOT part of Unity Hunt or HSG)
    #336 Amos Hostetter - $2.7bn (WUSA 1.0)
    #407 Mark Cuban - $2.3bn (HDNet)
    #458 Stan Kroenke - $2.1bn
#488 Malcolm Glazer & Family - $2.0bn (NFL Bucs, Manchester United)
    #754 Robert Kraft - $1.3bn

Not appearing that I can find
    Jorge Vergara (Chivas USA)
Lamar Hunt & Family (Columbus and Dallas)
    John Hendricks (Washington Freedom)
Victor MacFarland or William Chang (DC United)
Cliff Illig or Neal Patterson (Kansas City)
    Lawrence Tanenbaum (Toronto)
    Dave Checketts (Salt Lake)
    Greg Kerfoot (Vancouver Whitecaps)

I'm sure I've missed some notables, and there was someone I just thought to look up, but it escapes me at the moment. Grrrrr

I did some searching around a few months ago and Greg Kerfoot is apparently worth ~$2B. Larry Tannenbaum is worth under $1B, I think I read a estimate being around $640M. Largely because when he didn't want to sell his stake in the Toronto Raptors to MLSE they instead gave him a % of MLSE shares, and since the Toronto Maple Leafs are a license to print money, his value of has skyrocketed.

Nice job looking up that info Andy Mead. I got the new Forbes400 issue too. I was wondering who the soccer billionaires are. I bet there's some Eastern European dudes who should be on the list but aren't because its hard to account for their wealth.
