Well, betting and lines do not always have anything to do with what actually happens. The line is made to balance the betting so the bookie does not take a bath. By and large, they make their money on the service charges (aka the "vig"), just like TicketBa$tard.
My point was that MLS has so much parity that betting on individual games is very difficult. And that preseason predictions are usually very wrong.
