Avoid Tilapia...bottom feeder fish. Which is not the bad part (red snapper, seabass, etc. are also bottom feeder fish) but the problem is that most Tilapia is sourced out of Asia and not in the best farmed raised environments. Try to go for "Wild" fish when possible. Some farmed fish can be ok but you just want to make sure that their sustainable sourcing and chain of custody process is in line....I know "it's just food"...but that's the point. It isn't anymore. We have an insatiable appetite in the US that has been sustained and profited by big agriculture farming (think Monsanto and massive corn subsidies) so start looking at your food source closely. I care more about this crap now because I have 3 little ones who I want better for. As for me, I probably have ingested enough bad stuff that it will take decades to correct.
NEVER order your fish with sauce. Have it on the side. Good fish will take delish all by itself. But old fish can be passed for "Ok" with sauce. Hollandaise = egg yolks, butter, lemon.
Thanks for the tip. In my defense the picture is not from my actual plate and the sauce was not all over the fish, mainly on the patties. I usually have dressings on the side, so I'll incorporate fish into that pattern of (annoying customer ) behavior..
Haha that is all my wife's friends. It's like bitch we own a house... You rent.... Nice 10k Apple watch tho. Idiot
I am not trying to lose weight lol. Just eat healthy. But yeah, I mostly eat chicken or steak with veggies
^^^^holy brown food... funny how they have a few scallions to make it 'healthy'....easily +3000 calories
In my defense I ate like half of it. My son had like a quarter of it for dinner and my wife cooked calentao with whatever was left and some corn. Not bad for 5.99.
haha, I'm just busting chops. All I know is that once I hit my mid 30s, those pounds pack on pretty easy. But back in my college days it was all about that 2 am after party meal. And yes, it was very brown. In Rochester, we would go to a popular hangout where they had their signature dish...the "garbage plate"... perfect post party drink food... They consist of a foundation of baked beans and/or macaroni salad with either home fries or French fries. On top, a choice of two: cheeseburger, hamburger, red hots, white hots, Italian sausage, chicken tender, haddock, fried ham, grilled cheese, or eggs. The crown jewel on this mountain of food: onions, mustard and Nick's signature hot sauce -- which is a ground meat chili like you'd get on a Michigan-style Coney dog.
Oh yeah. When I was younger we would hit Perros Alonzin at 3 am or some other place that sold Mazorca desgranada with chicken. And off course I was only 175 lbs and no weight gain after 5 meals per day. When I started working I put on like 15 lbs in 3 months but lost them with exercise and a little diet. I was in pretty good shape until just before the birth of my son. After that I have put like 3 lbs per year, so now I'm at 200 lbs give or take and can't seem to lose weight by any possible means. And I eat like half of what I eat 20 years ago.
